Is your R1T your first EV and/or first truck?

If you own a Rivian is it your first EV and/or truck?

RJ has mentioned before in interviews that Rivian's goal is to not necessarily to convert existing EV owners, but rather ICE truck owners to get their first EV. I know they have their own internal data on what people are migrating from, but I'd love to know the breakdown of the RivianForums users.

For me it's my first EV and first truck. We had been talking about getting an EV for a while, but R1T came into the equation when their one day factory sale happened last year and we realized how nice it would be for yardwork/hauling the bikes/future plans around roof top tent camping.

Replied first ev/first truck but it's a "sort of." I have a Q5 plug in hybrid and I've driven 4runners most of my adult life which were considered "light trucks" for the longest time. My gen2 that I drove daily until 2016 always felt like a truck with a nice camper on the back and I almost always had the rear seats down.

I voted no/no but it's also a little wishy-washy.

Previously owned a Honda Ridgeline for a couple years and had bought an EV6 like 2 months before I got my Rivian. At the time of ordering my truck definitely a yes/no if you count the Ridgeline as a truck.

My T is my first personal daily driver EV, although my ex owned a Volt for years so I was already an "EV" fan and knew quite a bit about it, including installing the charger at home for that.

This is not my first truck - I have been waiting a LONG time for the first EV truck, however. I'm glad Rivian was the company to do it.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Have owned many trucks and several EVs.

R1T has been the best of either.

Opal (our R1T) is our very first EV and we absolutely love her. We have have had ten trucks over the last 40 years. We still have a 2020 Chevrolet Siverado Duramax. Even though Opal will easily pull our Airstream Travel Trailer, we will keep the Duramax for our long trips. As the EV charging infrastructure improves, we may be able to use Opal for all of the towing duties.

I love having a truck for transporting a bicycle, base camping, backcountry gear, and family holidays. Trucks are great for road trips.

I answered First EV & First Truck, but that isn't exactly true since I had a Subaru Baja before the R1T, and that was almost a truck.

3rd EV...previously owned a Chevy Spark EV and a MINI Cooper SE.

First truck. I've owned SUVs, wagons, sedans, and sports cars before. The R1T's frunk and gear tunnel are the only reason I really even considered a truck and I've been using the hell out of both. Finally have my manual tonneau cover, so I'll be more likely to use the bed now too.

First EV and first SUV.

I’ve spent more than 10 years looking for an ideal SUV that made sense and none of them came close to Rivian.
I’ve looked at QX 80, BMW X5, Range Rover sport, Tesla model X, Porsche Cayenne, GMC Denali, Lexus GX460, 570 and 600.

None of them were able to hit my requirements of horsepower, running costs, on road and off road capability and utility / seating.

The icing on the cake was preorder pricing and full $7,500 tax credit.

1st EV but not first truck. Owned a Chevy Avalanche and put a deposit down on the Chevy Silverado EV (reincarnated Avalanche) when I crossed paths with Rivian. Also owned a Ford Ranger before the Avalanche.

DeanB1452, I also reserved a Silverado. It still gripes me the introduction date kept slipping. They made 18 last year :(. Now the date could be anywhere from a year or two away to who-knows. Anyway, I saved money on my Rivian and it's great. I had a Ford Ranger and Honda Ridgeline, which really is a truck. And a Volt. So I answered no / no.
