Thanks for posting. I just played around with the map in the app. Unfortunately in Northern New England, for whatever reason it excludes most of the superchargers that I have tended to rely on as a ten year Tesla owner: eg Hooksett, Lincoln, and West Lebanon in NH, Berlin VT, and Queensbury and Plattsburgh in NY. The ones open will be helpful as backup locations but not primary. I hope Tesla will add more existing superchargers to the list over time, as well as build out more v4 superchargers that are accessible.

The superchargers have to be V3 or V4 all the older ones will not work. V4 station have longer cord and the units are centered in the parking spots or are here in the USA

If I were at Rivian, i'd charge $200 for adapters this year and say "but everyone gets them for free next year."

Extra revenue and helps to let people self-prioritize.

And if you were Rivian, this would also keep you from using it as business expense for tax deduction. Brilliant.

Shoot ordered a2z but price went up to $177. No big deal. I think worth as a spare to original adapter when it comes and for early sc access.

I think they key word is 'authorized' in this claim.

Update the vehicle to the latest software and the app. You must have software version 2024.7.2+

Rivian access to Tesla Superchargers has officially gone live !!!

PLEASE NOTE: To see the chargers in the app and Your vehicle, you need to Unhide chargers requiring adapters. In the car it’s under the Hide tab on the main nav screen.

In the app it’s located here :

Open app>navigation tab(bottom middle icon)>lighting bolt(top right) >hide>hit toggle Adapter needed.

Tesla chargers will appear.


This is a huge thing for all Rivian owners especially for roadtripping. No information about Tesla/Rivian adapters shipping or shipping time has been confirmed or released.

I noticed a spot in Wilsonville OR with built in CCS chargers or use a NACS adapter.

It's kind of worrisome when you consider I ordered a Rivian ball cap (that's in stock) on 3/7 and today is 3/18 and it hasn't even shipped yet. When I order from the Tesla shop.. my stuff usually arrives in under a week whereas it's been 11 days and Rivian hasn't even shipped my hat yet.
Not exactly stellar fulfillment service from Rivian.

No, its not CCS.

Warranty issues come to mind by using a non- approved adapter.

Absolutely not. You have an AC Level 2 adaptor. You cannot use that to do DCFC Level 3 charging.

Said differently; your adaptor is Tesla (NACS) to J1772 -- Superchargers require Tesla (NACS) to CCS adaptors.

We are not planning any Rivian trips at this time. We can wait for the adapter that will be provided by Rivian unless it's a year or two off. If we need it before then, we will buy one. Hopefully, that will be after the mad rush to get one is over.

I just wish that Rivian would make an official announcement as to access to the Tesla Supercharger System and when we can expect to get the Rivian authorized adapter.

I have the latest version of the rivian app but do not see any "Hide" filters under the Network filters. On Android. Anyone else have this issue?
