I know it's the wrong thread, but what's up with the MALWARE on this site? On my MacBook, if I click on a thread, I get the danger, you computer has been taken over.....do not try to delete....call this number..... It's damn annoying and I have to force quit to get out from under the threat.
Sounds like some shady adware trying to scam you into calling the number and paying them to "clean" your machine.

Sounds like you have some other sort of malware installed on your computer. Best to call Apple to support to see how to get rid of it.

I don’t know if it’s on your route, but did you see that a six stall RAN finally opened in West Lebanon, NH? That is a huge improvement in the area, as is the 9 station in Holyoke MA. Brattleboro VT RAN still not open.
I just saw that yesterday! While I'm very excited to have that option for the return, it's only 60 miles south of me, so it would mainly help as a top-up on the way down, and likely a lifesaver on the way back up. The real benefit for me of having the adapter would be using the P-Town Supercharger while I'm out on the cape since we stay in Truro (no other DCFCs on the outer cape), and the cabin I stay in doesn't have 220v available (I stay for free, so that is what it is).

I hate the Lebanon EA, and it looks like the RAN is closer to the interstate and in Shaw's parking lot, which beats Walmart any day (at least something reasonably edible/organic can be found if we’re hungry). Definitely progress in my book! On the thread about the Lebanon RAN, I also noticed that one is going into Brattleboro soon, which is great news. I've heard a lot of people assuming the Brattleboro Tesla charger will work, but it's split Gen 2/Gen 3, so it won't. Brattleboro doesn't help me for Cape Cod Trips, but is clutch for NYC trips. (Edit: I just noticed that Brattleboro RAN appears to be a live station on the app?? Can anyone confirm?)

That EA might be consistently the worst one I've experienced—slow speeds, downed chargers, and a line are almost a given. Before I found out about that RAN a couple months ago, I was pretty bummed that the Tesla station around the corner from the EA that always seems to be empty wasn't Gen 3, and therefore wouldn't be open to CCS vehicles—now I'm actually excited to try my first RAN charger in a couple of weeks, even if it's to top my pack up.

A Boston area RAN seems like a glaring omission at the moment... I have been surprised at how hard it is to find good fast charging anywhere close/convenient to the 93 corridor. Even Gen 3, CCS-compatible Superchargers seem to be nonexistent, which is surprising.

Got our opt-in email yesterday. Basically a notification for another notification.

How long did it take for peeps to get their adapter after the opt-in email?

It doesn't work like that. It's based on vehicle delivery dates. Even if you got the opt-in and you're not among first year of vehicle deliveries, it can still be a long ways until you get that second email and subsequent adapter shipping notification.

Outline of process by one redditor:

Brattleboro was not showing on the app map this morning when I posted, but it’s showing six RAN chargers available now - great to see though I rarely pass by there.

I’ve had Teslas for 11 years so started out with 1.5-2 hour lunches with level 2 charging in Montpelier. It’s great that Tesla then filled in key Northern New England locations fairly early on, starting with West Lebanon and Hooksett, then Burlington, Berlin, Lincoln, etc. Unfortunately as a result they’re pretty much all v2 chargers so are inaccessible even with the adapter. And with Elon firing the Supercharger team I have to wonder when any will get upgraded to v4.

Day 2 of NACS shipments. Received mine today in SF Bay Area from distribution center in SoCal. It came wrapped in paper filler, no case like A2Z adapter. First impression is that it isn’t as sturdy as A2Z. Knocking on the plastic housing and it sounds like it can crack. The gray locking lever is plastic so that’ll break at some point. It was super slippery when I took it out of the plastic bag. Gonna have to wrap it in grip tape. It fits nicely, for easy access, in the driver side door pocket.

Reports on reddit that when the vehicle locks the charge port, the Tesla adapter also locks the NACS side, meaning no one can unplug you when you're away from the vehicle. If that's true, it explains why the Tesla adapter is so bulky (because it needs to pass along that locking action from the vehicle side to the NACS side) and it also means it's a much more functional adapter than the A2Z or Lectron ones in my opinion.

I'm back in camp "happy to wait for the better product" now.

Since Tesla's insane decision to terminate Tinucci & her Supercharger team, Bloomberg reports: Some of the Supercharger servicing team, which manages third-party access to the network, remains intact, according to one of the people. Tesla has been building CCS-to-NACS adapters in Buffalo, New York, and shipping them to partnering carmakers. Companies that have signed charging contracts with Tesla are mostly using the adapters as a short-term fix. For example, Ford EV customers can use the Supercharger network with an adapter now, and the technology will be built into the vehicles beginning in 2025.

I'm sure BestEVMod will be creating a case for this in no time!
My aftermarket console organizer for the Tesla has a place for the J1772 adaptor.

Maybe one of the forum sponsor accessory makers can make a console organizer that holds both A2Z and Rivian provided adaptor (vertically since its deep) so that it doesn't take another case to keep it from rolling around.

It is on my route, and will help (more so on the way back). When I read your message later this afternoon, I pulled out my app and guess what—Brattleboro appears to have opened today too!

im so surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention this, or an email from Rivian to VT Rivian owners. Given what a CCS DCFC desert VT is, this seems like a big deal—especially to anyone traveling to/from NYC—especially after the disappointing news that mixed Gen 2/3 Superchargers won’t get CCS support (such as the Brattleboro Supercharger).

These two stations fill big gaps for those of us in or traveling to VT. Also, it’s a lot closer to the exit than the Supercharger (and closer in West than the shitty EA). Let’s go RAN!! Finally showing some love to Northern New England.
