I had to reboot my R1 because the garage door symbol wasn't working

It’s already done so this is late (and no harm done by a reboot), but just toggling location based garage door shortcut off then back on fixed it for me…

Has Rivian trimmed the development team? Seems like updates are taking longer and longer. I also get that with more vehicles on the road they have to be more careful. Hope the next one has something I like. 2024.11 was the least useful thus far.
It’s seems like you are just trolling here. There has consistently been an OTA every month. There was a single OTA that caused some headaches due to a certificate error so I’m sure there is an extra step/check before general release at this point…but it has remained consistent at one OTA per month…
“Least useful” is a biased and relative term. They aren’t just sending an update to you or to address your needs/wants. Everyone will have a different opinion about the “usefulness” of each OTA as it applies to their personal circumstances

Issues i've started seeing after 2024.11:

* Tidal album / track pictures not showing up
* Had some plug and charge payment issues start

Did a soft reboot / hard reboot / logout + login of tidal. No resolution.

I don't want to jinx myself here, but the last update fixed my issues with Tidal artwork.

With the production line changes, R1 hardware updates, etc., etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next update is indeed pushed back a bit. Personally I don’t mind, with one major exception, Rivian has done a damn good job in the quality of their updates. I’d like them to stay that course rather than rush anything.

My cousin said they overheard a guy say the next update was gonna have AA & CarPlay.

Rivian Service just called and advised me that they had issues with the 2024.11.02 update for vehicles with VINs near mine, 4xxx, so they paused that rollout. I had previously opened a service ticket inquiring why it hadn't received it yet, despite my newer VIN 38xxx receiving the update on April 18. They said my older VIN may receive the update by end of the week; they didn't elaborate any more than that.

They started deploying 2024.11.03 on 5/3 so you may see it soon.

The two instances of 11.03 showing on Electrifi are employee vehicles.

if they're just starting to roll out 11.03, sounds like the next big update is indeed delayed

Onviously not as he has specific needs that Rivian in this latest update didn’t satisfy and hence it was a “useless”’ update of no value.
Correct, it’s not something I care about. I do all my charging at home. It might be useful in the future, who knows? But you’re correct in that it isn’t something I care about.

Btw please show me where I said “useless”. Considering you went thru the effort to use quotes there you’d think one would get the quote correct. I said least useful. That’s not useless. Factually speaking, every single person in here has an update they find least useful. This is mine. Please stop changing words for dramatic effect.

Yes , obviously it’s a relative term. I’m stating my own opinion on it and it will obviously be subjective. But Look at the release dates and you will see the major dot releases are spreading further apart. That’s part is evident so I’m not sure what you see as trolling. Just stating my thoughts on the update and the fact that they are slowly spreading further out, not sure what’s so controversial here. Hope the next one hits one home ?

I have to wonder if the slowdown is a combination of factors
WHAT SLOWDOWN?

Seriously people, the last update was 15 April. That was only three weeks ago. The next one will be the week of 13 May if Rivian continues to keep to the same every-four-weeks schedule they've adhered to for the past two+ years.

Maybe, if they don't release something in the next two weeks, THEN you can speculate on a delay - although if anything it would likely be a deliberate realignment of the OTA schedule with the rollout of the hardware changes that came with the factory shutdown.

Right now the only reason to claim a "slowdown" is to sow fear, uncertainty and doubt.

yes i think slowdown is inaccurate. But the employee release of 2024.11 was March 29. And versions were consistently pushed out in beta/early access form around that time. We are now 5 weeks over and the latest update rolling out to employees is 11.03. Why bother with 11.03 if there is a 15 coming?

Again, i wouldn't call it a slowdown, but either like some suggested, 11.x bugs have caused them to delay the next release OR the next one will be a big one and they need more time to validate. I'll just say it's probably a one-off, but we're definitely past the 1 month employee release cycle at this point.

I would expect the 4 week release cycle to grow moving forward. They just completed a major overhaul of the CPU and vehicle communication stacks, that is going to add a lot of additional regression testing to ensure everything works on both hardware configurations.

Chill dude. If you paid attention, I was responding to another post who questioned if there was a slow down. Did you notice that my comments had ? after each?? Take your FUD accusations elsewhere.

This is the entirety of what you said:
I have to wonder if the slowdown is a combination of factors:
- Since it seems that are delivering more regression bugs, maybe they are now taking more time for regression testing?
- The list of features they can implement quickly/easily is getting smaller, so what’s coming takes longer development?
- Part of the team is focusing on the R1 network architecture change which almost certainly involves code changes, as well as the R2 development?
The way this is worded, in plain English, makes it clear that you are not questioning whether there is a "slowdown" - instead you are providing three items of speculation on WHY there is a "slowdown".

Each item you present has a question mark indicating that you aren't sure whether that item is a contributing factor. But none of those are relevant or even possible unless you accept the notion of a "slowdown".

You do not present ANY skepticism of a "slowdown".

So I think it's perfectly logical for any reader, after seeing post after post concluding a "slowdown" based on nothing, that your follow-on post, as worded, has accepted the fact of a slowdown and is postulating on why the slowdown is occurring.

If on the other hand your tone was meant to be more of a Ralph Macchio "I shot the clerk" response, well you can see how that tone doesn't carry over in a written statement ...
