Rivian NACS Adapters begin arriving!

I'm in the 4500s and I haven't heard a peep after confirmation. I suspect it all comes down to how many of these adapters are being manufactured and when Rivian can get batches.

In the meantime, the A2Z adapter works great.

500ish VIn, yet to recieve shipping address confirmation email

My R1S delivered in Nov. 2022, VIN 1720, and I've only received the opt-in email. Rivian said they are going by delivery date, so I expect that thousands of R1T's are in line ahead of the early R1S VINs.

Next big thing is "When will Rivian finish delivering adapters to all their customers"?

I'm sure it's going to be a big deal to some potential new owners when they hear that people in VIN 1001 (made this up) still haven't received their adapter in May. Pretty sure Rivian has been marketing "supercharger access" since March.

Not sure though how much leverage Rivan has with Tesla who's the only one producing the approved adapters.

My hope is that they can say Tesla breached contract delivery timelines and that Rivian can start sourcing from others. This, of course, will require UL certification and tesla to allow that cert on superchargers. This might drag out in court...

I wonder if new R1s are delivered with adapters or they are at the end of the line? Rivian delivers a couple thousand vehicles per month. If they deliver 1000 adapters to existing owners per month, that'll be two years from now before most people here would get one. Be prepared for that kind of time frame.

Based on current rate....something like maybe end of '25 or even longer, unless there is a serious ramp up on those deliveries.

We're adding a demo R1T (VIN 023xxx) as a companion vehicle to our R1S. Rivian appears to treat demonstrators as new vehicles, with modestly discounted prices and a few governmental restrictions on which states agree to license them.

Rivian's sales representative made it clear that our new vehicle will NOT come with a NACS DC adapter.

My interpretation: Rivian could have prioritized new deliveries to get scarce adapters, in order to boost sales. They chose to prioritize existing owners instead.

This is the fair way to do it and show your support/love for your early supporters.

Per perspective, I’m a 76## R1T, delivered in June 2022.

Here is the first notice I’ve seen of order OEM TESLA being delayed till August for Ford customer who ordered in March.

I was worried we would get more notices about orders being delayed month by month from May to June and now I see that Day 3 (March 2nd, 2024) orders for Ford customers are expected to ship in August.

Looks like we can expect our free adapter after Summer road trip season has ended and kids are back in school.

Did SC prices go up? I could've sworn it was $.33/$.23 per kWh at George, WA, charger, now it's showing $.40/.$30. It still beats the $.56/$.42 at EA or $.42 at Shell, but makes the draw to RAN that much stronger...
