You may consider that you could have parked more left. Just center up with the station and the cable will reach. That would place you in your spot and the other spot completely empty. That Rivian front corner port works pretty well compared to Ford's virtually unreachable one. They should just restripe the spaces to place the stations in the middle of each space. That would allow both Tesla and others to plug in easily.
Thank you for your recommendation. As you weren't actually at the site with zero other Tesla charging visitors, I can understand that you're not in the position to understand that my parking spot was intentional and left plenty of room for other drivers on both sides. Including the Tacoma owner who parked next to me to air up their truck.

Is this just an abnormal station? Here I am charging my loaner R1S at the new Provincetown, MA supercharger last night on my newly arrived A2Z ?—the station was empty so I tried a “worst case” location scenario, and it was nearly between the lines.

Peak charge rate was 214kW, and it seems that with the the loaner car, billing likely goes to Rivian. My A2Z arrived the day I left for this trip last Friday, so I haven’t had a chance to use on my own vehicle yet—I was so happy this worked out, since the outer cape was a charging desert with no fast chargers until sometime in the last 12 months. This Tesla charger is a magic dock, so maybe they centered the stalls more in anticipation of alternate charge port locations? I have only charged at one other SC (Hanover l, MA on the way down).

So far, so good with the A2Z—I’m just glad I didn’t keep waiting for “my number to get called.” Not having Tesla charging would have made this trip less fun/easy.

I didn't want to reply at first, because it seems obvious to me that it didn't _actually_ take 5+ months for @Tango45 to receive their product. It wasn't _released_ until April. I ordered mine on March 19, received it on May 10. It only stands to reason that shipments will ship more in real-time as they get caught up on the backlog. I mean, come on folks.
That's a good point; I didn't mean to imply that they were cranking them out that entire time, but to give input to anyone trying to figure out where they were in fulfilling preorders. I had seen someone mention that they had ordered in November and got theirs last month. Your dates seem to provide what sounds like a more reasonable timeframe and, more importantly, hope to those who had ordered recently.

A side note for anyone considering the A2Z vs Lectron: my A2Z came in less than 4 weeks from ordering (just shy, but within the stated 3-4 weeks). It is a very substantial unit (it feels extremely dense and well made—the heft surprised me initially, having only used L2 adapters before).

After having a Lectron L2 adapter fail, I decided to try A2Z for the NACS converter after several positive reviews. So far, aside from being fairly tight for comfort on both NACS end and CCS (I hope it loosens a bit in time), I’m glad I went with the A2Z—especially after the recall. It honestly seems like it’s more well constructed than what I’ve seen so far of the official Tesla adapter, and is the most compact to boot.

Lectron had already told me that it could be six more weeks. At least with A2Z, they show estimated delivery dates when ordering. I just don't have any confidence in Lectron.

Totally understand your situation. Best of luck with your A2Z. I will continue to enjoy my Lectron.

Actually they started taking orders back in October. It did take 5+ months for the majority of folks. I was on the same boat, ended up canceling after 5 months of wait.

I'm simply stating that they started shipping actual product in April. Anything before that should imho be considered a preorder.

After waiting 5 weeks with no word from Lectron I emailed them two weeks ago for an ETA and was told they expect to fulfill all preorders by end of May.
Told them (truthfully) I was going on a road trip May 23 and really hoped to have it by then. They bumped me up in the delivery chain and I just got mine, going to test it out tomorrow.

That's a "new" station layout where Tesla started putting them in the middle. I've seen a few like this. It totally solves the issue for us. I realize that @obfuscurity had plenty of free buffer space at that "old layout" site he was at, not to mention being empty anyway, but I wanted to point out a tighter option for when that extra space isn't available. Your example shows exactly that with the centered striping to match so no second space is blocked!

I've parked on the opposite side for better access but it confuses other people who arrive to use the station from the normal side. I quickly learned that scooting over a bit on the normal side is better.

this is a pretty new station (not sure how new, but it wasn’t there last year around the same time—which was a pleasant surprise).

The good news that is now obvious to me after experiencing this newer station is that Tesla could probably just redraw the lines at a lot of older layout stations, effectively centering the stall, which is a lot cheaper/more feasible than moving stalls. The last spot on a side may need to get widened if there are curbs involved, but that would also be cheaper than relocating charging units.

With HOT Weather already cooking our connectors/adaptors & I did read about Tesla users placing wet towels on their connector to keep them from getting too warm/hot, I conducted a test today.

I went to a NACS Adaptor required Charger in Burlington, VT & with a cloudless day I connected & started charging from 29% & at 56.40% the connector/adaptor got too warm & the charger shut down & I had to disconnect & it was warm, but not hot. I tired multiple times to reconnect & continue charging & the station would not recognize "Tarkus" was connected , so I went back to work drive testing & circled back to this same charger two hours later & this time I added my version of keeping the connector/adaptor from getting warm/hot & it seemed to work (see pics).

Charging went from 47% to 80.80% & no shut down by the charger until I stopped (due to passing 80%).

I'll be retesting this theory again on the next cloudless day & my visit to a Tesla NACS adaptor Station.
