Have not tried that beer specifically, but that brewery is one of the best in the country. Almost can’t miss with anything they make.

I don't mean to keep cross-posting this, but it's sort of relevant to this title thread:

But only if you are drinking Kona on the islands. If you are drinking it anywhere else, it was made by someone else (AB Inbev) and somewhere else on the mainland.

Meh, then again Ommegang is owned by Duvel. Nevermind, let's just focus on the beer and not what global conglomerate owns them now or will in the future.... especially considering the Rivian/Apple chatter, lol.

Funny EV story about Ommegang from this past Thanksgiving...

Our extended family, hailing from PA, Boston, Westchester County NY, and Long Island, booked a large home in Cooperstown for the 18 of us over Thanksgiving. We went to Ommegang for what turned into a 3-hour lunch and beer tasting BUT LEFT THE RIVIAN BEHIND! EV charging in Cooperstown is sadly deficient and I just kept it plugged into the 120 V to ensure that we'd have enough juice to get to the nearest fast charger on the way home. Anyway, we pull into Ommegang and there sit four unoccupied L2 chargers! I asked them why there wasn't anything on their website and the manager told me that they didn't want locals with Teslas just leaving them there to charge all day - that the chargers were meant for customers while in the brewery. I would have come out way ahead on the charging game if we had taken the Rivian and I could have plugged in for those three hours.

Great beer - but I never tried that stout...More of an IPA consumer.

If you're in the northeast, Treehouse Brewing Company (at least the one in Deerfield) has 5-6 L2 chargers as well and more great beer. I might have a problem...

Kona was actually one of the brands divested by Inbev. Interestingly I saw that Kona is investing in infrastructure locally on the islands and shifting the focus back to where it started. I think craft beer was so much better when it was much more localized.

Been a homebrewer and craft beer pupil for 30ish years (back in the day when Pete's Wicked Ale was still independent) and the happenings in the brewery world are just as interesting as the EV market.

Have not tried that one but as others have said you can’t go wrong with Ommegang.

If someone is local to Ventura county, stop by the Red Engine Brewing in Fillmore. (Disclaimer, I’m one of the founders ?)

ABI diversted Kona IN Hawaii due to some antitrust issues. They still produce and distribute it on the mainland. It's a really weird setup. The local Kona has definitely done a lot of investment.

Agreed on your last point though. Homebrewer here too and started drinking New Belgium in the 90s in high school, ha. Most of my beer business these days goes to 2 of the 5 (!!, it's Denver) small breweries on the main street in my neighborhood plus the neighborhood craft beer pizza place.

If you come with your Rivian and let me know when you're coming, you first beer is on me!
Noted for my next trip to your neck of the woods. My S won't probably make it with me, but I'll just take pride knowing I can supporting a fellow Rivian driver.

The person who orders beer at my curling club keeps ordering cases of this in 24oz cans and it is god awful. It's also malt liquor.

Yeah, good insight. Not too many people know the history. Kona Brew Co in Kona is independent again. I think AB InBev is rebranding what they own to Kona Big Wave:

EDIT: For those visiting the Big Island, check out Ola Brew: https://www.olabrewco.com/
