Where are all the R1S in R1 Shop?

What's going on at RIvian with the R1Ss? The R1S Store only has a few cars in white or silver. The demo store has no cars. Since the manufacturing opened back up, why can't you order a car? From my understanding, they have huge inventory for both the R1T and R1S...so what's the deal? Are they hiding inventory to create more demand and higher prices? Any ideas?

I don’t think they started selling the refresh models yet to the public. I think they are still validating everything. The R1T seemed to slow down on deliveries but R1S was still selling pretty well so it is possible they are out or nearly out of the R1S not assigned to an order and only have the R1T available.

They have said Q2 will be slow, Q3 will be ramping up, and Q4 should be back to or above pre-shutdown rates.

In my area white and silver are the only colors available now. I got lucky and found a Limestone that was released back into inventory. Had the 21" wheels but my guide had it changed to the 22" dark. Just waiting to schedule delivery.

In my area, I see a dozen. One El Cap, and the rest are white or silver. Either DM or Quads.

I've asked the employees I know if Rivian is going to be doing another employee early purchase thing like they did with the first run of cars, said they haven't heard anything yet about it if they are. So it's not just the public not being sold to.

We need someone with a drone to do a Normal flyover again.

Not sure. Moments ago was first time I saw that Rivian put new trucks on cars.com...

Despite Cars.com saying 160 are available it only appears to be 4 and choices are silver/white and quad motor.

It is interesting they are trying to sell these this way though.

Edit: Also interesting avenue to see what inventory is available locally.

Amen to that! Are they stockpiling R1s? Haven’t they been building them for 3 weeks now? How are they going to sell 57,000 (was that the guidance?) R1s this year if they keep them hidden away?

Or even more....how can they expect the service centers to handle all the PDI, corrective actions, and the actual deliveries? Talk about being slammed....

It stills not all the inventory is showing as available based on your location.
If you play with the zip code you'll see it.

I have no reds available for my zip code but there are 3 available if I put the San Jose zip code.

There is actually only 1 red available. The existing Standard and Standard+ cars are software locked Large batteries. They are listing the same car with three different battery options that can be configured.

Some cars with the 20"AT tires won't show with the Standard battery since Rivian won't offer that config.

It’s interesting that these Red ones can be delivered to San Jose but not to my zip code in the East Bay (94563)…
