The shop has Gen 2 R1S, Dual Standard only showing for my location, but if you have a pre-order you can get these for under $65K and maybe still get your 2022 tax credit if you signed the binding contract. That would be an amazing deal if it worked out.

How many actual pre-order holders are still out there ? I used my pre-order voucher towards my OG R1S.
I’m one of them. Oct 2019 pre price hike reservation. My original config was an R1T Quad with Max. Then changed i to R1T Quad with Powered Tonneau Cover. Now I’m waiting for the TriMax since Rivian won’t fulfill neither one of My original configurations. Hoping Rivian does right.

Nah that doesn't exist anymore. But it's what I'd been wanting for so long before the refresh. In May customer service told me they're not making that combo anymore so I knew the writing was on the wall.
Got ocean coast+dark ash.
I had a 20% discount, so I used it towards my configuration in late March/early April took delivery at the end of April. and was able to get my 2022 tax credit amendment. 2024 standard+ dual motor performance with 22's and ocean coast+dark ash. I can't complain, Gen 2 would have been nice but I got a $92k car for essentially $65k.

July 2021 pre price hike reservation. I almost leased a few months back, but after no communication for about 4 weeks after my config was confirmed I lost interest. Then Rivian contacted me about a vehicle ready, only to tell me weeks later it was actually missing several things listed on the selected config. At this point I’d rather let my voucher expire and eventually lease, or even purchase, a 2025 Gen2 Trimotor R1T. No way I’d settle on the Gen1. Hell yes, I’m glad I waited.
Don't even get me started about trying to engage with sales. Between the guide program getting blown up and the ignoring text/email messages, I'm not at all surprised you took a break.

The obsession with Max Packs here has me questioning my choice of Standard. Honest questions:
- Are people getting these actually planning to drive ~200mi out and back in a day without charging or going off grid deep into wilderness that much?
- Do people really believe the $12-14k premium for the Max is truly worth it?
For me, 258 mi with an LFP (better durability and supposedly a more favorable charging curve with more sustained peaks) in socal with at most 1-2 road trips beyond 100 miles per year seems like it is a value king, with the pre-hike voucher and 2022 binding purchase agreement. Gets me down to ~$53k retail, -$58k OTD.

Many People want more range then they'll ever need. I wouldn't splurge on the max, standard and large is more than enough.

Honest answer: I need a max pack but I think I have an edge case. (It’s weird and I won’t bore you with the specifics.)

Based on the circumstances you describe, it sounds like you made a great choice by going with the standard pack. What’s the downside? All that money burning a hole in your pocket?

We also live in south OC and also settled on the standard. And also with the 20 inch wheels for 258 miles of range. We charge at home, and the standard will meet our needs 99% of the time. We don't have a voucher, so we did a custom config in red with ocean coast and premium audio. It will be fine. :)

I have mine (voucher) plus the binding agreement. I also have a wife that loves her Tesla Y with no interest in the R1S and suggests I sell my Lightning and just get the R1T instead. Going to wait another month and see if the gen2 R1T’s become available and may go that route. These are very first world problems and I’m thankful to have them…..
