The seat heating/ventilation should be fully automatic, like my GM vehicle. And every time I get a software update, it defaults to heat, even with the outside temp at 115F. Dumber than dumb. The first functional miss I’ve found with the new UI is that if you’re getting into a hot vehicle and want to turn on the driver seat ventilation and increase the fan speed, the seat vent UI controls pops on top of the fan speed UI, so you have to wait for the seat vent UI to disappear before adjusting the fan speed. Small annoyance, but seemed like an obvious (and rare) UI and UX miss.
Not entirely true. It can objectively suck if a large majority of customers don't care for it or otherwise have a negative view of it. The use a video game engine rendering, which would suggest a target audience of between 18 and 34 (~60% of the gaming demo), does not squarely align with the today's ev buyer...which is primarily in their 40s and has a $100k median income. However, EV manufacturers are trying to lure a younger buyer with a lower income, so the less professional, cartoon images do make sense in that regard.Completely, totally, utterly, unequivocally disagree. Perhaps your four year old has something to teach you?
And by the way, because you don’t like it doesn’t mean that it sucks. It means that you don’t like it. Neither your opinion nor mine define reality for anyone else.
You’re a little over dramatic but I don’t disagree that time and resources would have been better spent implementing some long-awaited updates like PIN to drive, valet mode, auto tilt mirrors, navigation improvement etc….thats even acknowledging or assuming that the entertainment/streaming stuff is ready pending testing of “premium connectivity”The new Rivian look sucks, but my 4yr old loves it.

100% agreeI dont like the maps on the drivers display now, I like how it used to fade into the middle. Now its boxed and looks like an Apple product
I am also anxious for the video watching on screen. It is unclear to me if the rear screen will be able to play videos while driving?I kept this comment vague as I wanted to see initial responses. Here are my true thoughts on the full update.
1. Overall, it’s fine. I like the old version better, and I do think this one sucks, but I’m sure I’ll grow to like it (maybe). I’m a little more annoyed that Rivian gets to change the interior look of our vehicles without us having any choice or options. It would be great to have options, like the wallpaper on a phone or computer.
2. I agree with Airmoses, the thing that bothers me the most of the drivers display, especially the maps now. Looks less sleek.
3. The new climate display is much better IMO.
4. Great to have turn signal cameras.
5. Excited for the update with apps to watch videos while charging when that comes. Not here yet!
That is all!

I just don't like the weird 2 tone color on the top down view... This pic it makes sense with the sun/shade.... But the other top down just looks weird, don't worry about "shading" just keep the one colorThe new Rivian look sucks, but my 4yr old loves it.
