2024 R1S PDM large.

I've experienced the infotainment sudden reset on a Rivian loaner R1S but today in my actual vehicle I noticed the regen bar stay on regen as I was accelerating on the highway. I looked more closely and the drivers display was frozen (efficiency bar and center lane animation) were not moving, and the regen bar was stuck on full green. Speedometer and turn signals worked. Lane change camera did not come on. The center screen worked fine, spotify, drive monitors all worked as indicated.

Did an infotainment reset (left and right steering wheel buttons) when I got to work, but didn't have time to check it out other than verify the left side display will change between map, tire pressure, and efficiency. So hopefully a soft reset fixes it.

UPDATE: Soft reset seems to have fixed it. Worked fine on commute home and back to work today.

I had the same thing happen one time in the 18 months I've owned my R1T. Unfortunately you can not perform an infotainment reset while driving, so I had to continue for about 45min (was driving on a Parkway with no place to pull over) with the driver display frozen. Once I could shift to Park, the reset fixed it and it has never resurfaced since.

Mine happens only when it’s been sitting outside in the heat. In the morning when it’s cooler, it does not happen. Mine is at the Rivian service center right now trying to be fixed.

Mine glitched and flickers all the time. No resets fixes it. Have a first service appt today to fix many small issues I’m having. It doesn’t do it all the time so I’m hoping they fix it with me showing all the videos of it doing it.

I have the same problem as you. It started after the update before the most current. Mine was at the service center for over a month for that and a leak. The vehicle was dropped off to me with the most current update and it had the same exact issue that I was told would have been resolved with the last update. It is back at the service center

I was called today by the SC in Costa Mesa. They say they don’t think it’s a hardware problem and their engineers are working on a solution.

This is the 3rd time that I’ve had to bring it in because at least once or twice a day the speedometer just gives up on me.

It’s a safety matter obviously to have a working speedometer and basically Rivian is telling me they have no solution and I’ll have to deal with it.

That isn’t the case in CA. I’ve had the car less than 24 months, have brought it to service 3+ times for the same issue, and they have no ability to fix the issue. That qualifies the truck as a lemon. I’ve made it clear I won’t accept taking back a truck that I can’t use safely.

In CA they have to either replace the vehicle with one alike or better, or buy the truck back with costs (my discretion which option). I’ve told Rivian I like the truck and just want a replacement vehicle that works. They have passed along the request to legal and I am waiting on their response.

Tons of fun…

Yes. They basically told me to get f*cked. They said it was not a hardware issue. I mentioned this seems to be an issue that comes up and there are several suggestions in the forum on how to fix it. They completely ignored me and declared it a software problem only.
