Looks great! Wish it had a built in fingerprint sensor for unlocking. Using the UI is not that ideal, and also not too safe if you want to store something like a handgun. I also really wish Rivian would allow an option to not unlock that bay when the doors unlock.

That product provides no security beyond any other drawer. It can still be undocked in the exact same manner as all other drawers/docks and auto-unlocks in park.

As long as you understand you are paying $200 more and there is ZERO added safety or security, then you do you.

I'm not thinking it is more secure, but if used for concealed carry, the fingerprint access would be a little faster for me than the interface unlock.

Exactly! And to my other point - why I would like Rivian give me the option for the drawer to not unlock when the doors unlock.

It's a nice design and I hope that, WHEN we get "Valet Mode," the drawer can't be removed (just like I don't need a valet removing the speaker for any reason). Well done and fairly priced - Thank you!

I'm waiting for the one with the biometric fingerprint reader to come back in stock. I think this one though, because it is bigger inside. Do not like navigating the screens to unlock it.

Yes, and thats an issue too. There is no way to leave it locked all the time, the way I understand it.

I ordered this because the camp speaker is NOT brilliantly designed. Being well designed would mean that it was out of sight and out of mind. It's not because even when its disabled it will make that bing sound occasionally. The kind that was solved initially by resetting it, and them seemed like it was solved by disabling it.

There doesn't seem to be a way of completely shutting it up so I've been waiting for a suitable replacement, and this product seems to be that.

The only thing that would be better than lockable space would be rechargable MEGA flashlight.

I imagine one could make a pretty incredibly powerful portable light with that much space. It also wouldn't have a speaker so no dreadful bing sound.

Hopefully some owner who doesn't have camp speaker will shell out some cash for Mr. Bing.
