Anyone else get a call that their vehicle has a hold against pushing the latest update? I have an early Gen 1 R1S that they say has a VIN hold from getting the latest update and not to worry as they’re working to extend the Connect+ trial commensurate with whenever I’m actually getting the new software? Not a huge deal - just wondering what’s so unique about my vehicle …

Curious, did they say what the issue was?

I have 1663, got the update yesterday, seems like everything except the WiFi staying connected in drive is working fine. Heading out on Sunday for a 7k mile trip, will be bummed if there is an issue I have not found. ??‍♂

Thanks, hopefully it is only the WiFi thing. The only other thing I saw people reporting was issues with Apple Music but not planning on using it so did not test that.

I guess I’ll find out in the next few weeks if it adds to my adventure. ?

Yellowstone, South Dakota, New England, Florida, then back to CA.

Basically a tour around the US, visit some parks, some friends, and some family.

I got the call from the Service Center today (Aug 16, 2024) that 2024.27 will not be pushed to my vehicle, but I will have a free, continued subscription for the current poor audio through the end of 2024. I have a Gen 1 QM R1T, delivered July 2023, VIN 024XXX, Meridian audio. A semi-edited version of the voicemail transcript follows:

"[Hola Pedro]. Good evening, my name is Hussein I'm a Rivian service support advisor. how you doing today? [Hola Pedro], my name is Hussein, I'm a Rivian service support advisor. I was reaching out to you. Just to let you know due to the specific of your vehicle specific configuration. There's going to be a hold up to you, on pushing the OTA to you. The dot 27 will actually be reaching out to you with more information in the next steps towards the solution for the vehicle within the next few weeks as far as connected Plus trial that started on August 13th will be extending your free subscription until the end of the year. If you have any questions concerns, feel free to give us a call back at 1855 RIVIAN5."

[Yes, the Rivian advisor repeated the introduction twice in the audio voicemail.]

That is so odd - mine was 99% the same script AND the same with the double-introduction (different rep). I wonder if it’s really an AI generated outbound message? Too much of a coincidence. LOL.

I got the call on Friday 8/16. I happened to answer it live because I thought it was about my two lost powered tonneau retrofit requests.

It was basically word for word the same (no double introduction) -- I didn't have the presence of mind to ask what the problem was in the moment. I tried contacting Rivian support afterwards to ask if this was a hardware problem that requires service or just a delayed update and they'll push out a fix in the coming weeks -- but they had not heard about the issue and didn't have any notes on it.

They did confirm that I have a note in my account saying my trial is extended and that my OTA was paused.

The Rivian support rep I talked to last week said he talked to the software team. The software team told him this was a problem with the update and they were working on a fix. The fix would be pushed out as an OTA update "in next couple of weeks" and not need a hardware repair

100% related to Driver + and highway assist. Currently My R1T lost this feature, and they have no solution at this time. Have a SC appointment in Oct. after a mobile service confirmed and did a battery disconnect reset. I hope the 2024.31 fixes this issue. My R1S does not have this issue, and both are QM versions.

The double introduction is typical for Rivian Service, If you pick up the phone you first hear an automated message something like "A Rivian Service Advisor will be with you shortly" then the guy introduces himself, waits a second, realizes its a Voicemail that he got connected to then leaves his voicemail script.

Source: I've contacted Rivian support many times and they've called me back many times.

The double introduction is typical for Rivian Service . . .
Thanks for explaining.

I installed the 2024.27.01 today. Like a few others reported, I had to do a full system reset to restore functionality of the high speakers.
