Chrome or Blackout Emblems - from which vendor would you recommend?

My installer/outfitter had to remove the OEM emblems to install PPF and somehow now saying Rivian is insisting that 'I', the owner have to order them. He did say he will reimburse me for the cost and he will install them.

After getting sticker shock of $600ish ('including' installation) for the OEM emblems from Rivian, he is recommending blackout emblems from Abstract Ocean, which is of course, cheaper.

What is your experience with 3rd party made Rivian emblems? Are they as good as OEM in quality and durability? Thanks.

Doesn't matter. Rivian blocked all 3rd party emblem sales. OEM is the only legal option now other than used/second-hand.

Why can’t they just be reinstalled with double sided tape? I do have the blackout emblems from abstract ocean and they’re 100% OEM quality.

The letters and emblems should not have been destroyed during removal. The installer should just apply some fresh double sided adhesive tape to the letters and emblems attach to vehicle. Or just skip the Rivian lettering and only put the Rivian logo emblems and R1T emblem. If your installer destroyed all of the emblems during removal I would really question the rest of their work.

I completely agree with you. His website has many customer samples of completed wraps (including *gasps* wrap on a cybertruck).

This is why I didn't think he would problem with my R1T, nor did he mention he may have challenge in doing so. Anyway, I am stuck with emblems that he can't attach back and I don't really want to pay another installer to install them.

Also as a newb, I just learned yesterday from a Rivian guide Rivian actually has recommended upfitters in my local area.

This has definitely been a hard learning experience for me.

I was surprised how good they were, still holding up over a year in CO sun! I did a full PPF and still have the original emblems in a box in the garage, just never of them having to be returned to the manufacturer.

They did. You can still contact @AO_Pete to see if they have any stock left over they may be able to get to you.

As mentioned above, still available by special order, we’re just not allowed to have them on the site. I’m out of town for a couple of days, but the link in my signature below should help, one of the team can get you taken care of. We supply a lot of wrap shops, the letters generally come of easily, but the compass emblems often crack.

Well we might be a little bias ? it’s a bit of a tedious install (not difficult, just takes a while) but the end result looks good if your going for a total blackout.

I got a set of the blackout from AO and installed them. Love the new look and wish I would have done it sooner.
