It sure looks like they expected you to use the stall to the right - the one that had that nice green electric charging sign.

Is there something out of frame that made you think you were supposed to park in the handicap spot?

People are stupid.

I always hear alot online and in person that "X vehicle people" are asses or rude or inconsiderate or something like that. What they really mean is they are asses or rude or inconsiderate or something like that and also drive X vehicle.

I've never met a motorcycle, Porsche, BMW, EV, [insert your version here] driver that was transformed from buying that vehicle.

The issue with the parking spot is that whoever installed the double charger placed it one spot too far. It should have been centered between the 2 spots next to the handicapped spot. However, it is clearly marked on the ground as well as the signpost. I almost did the same thing months ago.

It's not my Rvivian but I think it will be tough to fight. Not noticing the signs is tough to get out of. The person actually drove over the concrete parking block backing into the spot, so I have no idea how they missed the warnings.

That would be an uphill battle even in CA. The EV regulations for HP spaces only apply when the HP space is marked as an EV charging space. This one is not and the adjacent space would have been the proper space to use. Would be a bummer if that space was full when they started charging.

There was a Fiat charging next to it when I got there. I have charged there before and what he/she should have done was to park on the other side of the Fiat which was free at the time. The cord is more than long enough.

No. There is a lot of slack. I have charged in both spots without any problems extending the cable. It's just plain inattention.

The local Nissan dealership had a pair of L2 stations in the parking lot. One was in a regular spot and one was in a handicap spot. They would always tell me to park in the handicap spot, but I would refuse to do that. If that was the only spot available, I'd park on the other side of the curb and block access to one of the bays in their service department. I sold the LEAF in 2018 and haven't had to stop there since then.
