We have had Opal (our R1T) for a year and a half now. We have been using Opal's garage door opener function since the beginning. It has worked flawlessly until the .31 update. We really appreciate the fact that Opal can handle up to sixteen garage door openers. Between our house, gates, and sons' houses, we need nine openers. In our Silverado Duramax we have the three Home Link buttons in the truck and we also have two additional three button remotes clipped on the visor.

Now to the recent issue with Opal's openers. We have three garage doors at our house. They come up on Opal's driver screen as proximity openers numbered 1, 2, &3. Since the last update the numbers quit appearing when SuEllyn is driving the truck, the proximity opener still shows, but the numbers do not appear. She can scroll the opener and the different garage doors will operate, but she can not tell which one it is on until she sees which door is moving.

Here is the mysterious part. When I am driving Opal, all of the garage door numbers still appear. SuEllyn is Opal's owner and I am just a driver. We have tried a infotainment screen reset several times but the problem persists. Possibly Opal is mad at SuEllyn for some reason. Any other ideas???

No idea. Just spitballing. Is it possible that the numbers are currently linked to your driver profile and that you initially programmed the doors when you were the driver ? If that were true (and I have no idea) perhaps programming the openers again while her profile as the driver might allow her to label the openers under her profile? Please keep us posted it you figure this out thx .

Just curious, I have openers in multiple locations but only 1 in each. Mine show based on the name I gave them, can you change the names of the openers in a single location so they are unique?

Names disappeared for me as well before the latest update. Seems to have them working again.

Mine disappeared, then became a very faint gray color. With the 35 update they are now black again. The last three updates have all created new bugs for me.

Since the .31 update my garage door opener has gone wonky. Most of the time it doesn’t open my door when I press it anymore. Sometimes it does. The prompt still appears as I would expect it. Prior to this it was flawless. It worked every time I just updated to .35 so we’ll have to see if it has improved..

I happen to have a smart garage door app that I use as a backup but it’s mmuch easier to just press the button in Hi-Yo Silver.

Yes, you can and we did this. The three openers at the same location are named 1, 2, and 3. I plan to try renaming them when the truck is showing SuEllyn as the driver.

The really odd part on ours is that the names have only disappeared for one of the drivers.

My garage door opener doesn’t come up
anymore for the steering wheel shortcut and now I have to hit the Garage icon in the center display.
Any ideas on how to get it back?

This happened to me after .31. A soft reset cleared it up (outer buttons on the steering wheel for like 10 seconds)

Brian's situation is interesting. Makes me think we're about to get enhancements for driver profiles (valet mode please!).
