I love seeing them in highest setting - I almost fell flat on my face getting out of mine at the last tire rotation because I put it in the highest setting so that the tire place didn't have to. It's significantly different than kneel mode!

Welcome to the family! Ignore the snarky posts and re-read anything looking for sarcasm before you reply. Occasionally you'll even see a "/S" (end sarcasm) to make it clear. A lot of really intelligent folks here so don't hesitate to ask questions if you don't find an answer using the search function.

New member here from the SF Bay Area. Got the 2023 R1T New in San Diego last spring. Few minor issues but overall super happy with the car.

About to go on a longer International trip and prepping the truck for it.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Been on this site for a couple months as on a whim I test drove a R1TQM and was amazed at how good it was. Needless to say that brought me here to do my research along with a lot of YouTube. The original one I drove was pre-owned but it sold pretty quickly after my test drive. I visited my local service center and drove a couple demos which led me to constantly scour the shop for configurations. I just missed out on the great deals on the Gen 1 Quads, so I focused on scouring pre-owneds on Auto Trader. Friday I finally joined the club! Thanks for all the great information this site provides.

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Your R1T is very similar to our dear Opal. In looking at your pictures, your wheels look like 22's. Opal has 21's and they look different.

Hello Rivianians! I am from NJ and glad to be finally joining this fantastic group of Rivian Adventurers.

I looked around but did not find a forum for newbies that can get them started. I am looking at immediate next steps such as charger installation, etc. and could use some help navigating this site before posting questions. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Welcome! The forum is divided up into common topics, but I think most people utilize the "What's New" tab which shows all posts from all topics in order of most recent.

There is a search function, but it takes some practice to use it effectively and the results won't always be what you are looking for. For example if you wanted to search for all threads on charger installation you could enter "charger installation" then choose to either search only thread titles or to search for all posts about it, which would give you a ton of results, many of which would not help you...

So don't worry about being a newbie. Try the search and if you don't find what you need just ask. Lots of smart people and even more smartasses...

Feel free to ask what questions you have. I don't think I've seen a "use the search button, noob" response in a while. What I do see sometimes is that people know they've answered the question in a thread somewhere else and will share the link to the thread. For example, the "which charger?" question gets asked almost monthly and no one seems to hate. At some level, people recognize that buying your first EV is not just like picking up a new car at a dealership.

Also, welcome!

Thank you, both very much!
As I get more familiar with the forum, I might have some ideas to curate newbie oriented messages in a single thread or something similar. But I will go dig some answers. Thanks again.

Congrats and welcome! As Rivians are relatively new, most here are new. Ask away. Below is a link to the charger I got and it's been flawless. Cheers.

First welcome, and second, Jersey? What exit?

I would start with drive it and find all the nooks and crannies available for storage and items already in storage from Rivian (i.e. Camp Speaker & Flashlight). Regardless of where you are in NJ, a weekend roadtrip to Stewarts Root Bear will give you an idea of suspension and regen and you can play with the settings there and back.

Turn on auto headlights and wipers and setup your phone and any music options you already subscribe to available under music.

Check your tire pressures as they could be spot on or way under/over causing a rough, mushy ride.

As for Chargers, Chargepoint Flex off of Amazon is a good one I've used for years with current Rivian and last EV we had for years. It's Wi-Fi connected and can be scheduled like the Rivian and can be hard wired or plugged in to a 14-50 nema.
