2024.35 update - audio nerfed ( back to being crap!)

So the update before 2024.35 made so much improvement ('22 quad LE R1T w/meridian) but the .35 update seems to have nerfed all the improvement. I understand they adjusted the volume to be better distributed on the range available, but all the audio quality, deep bass and brightness the last update gave us seems gone with the .35 update? Anyone else?

Also I have a weird issue with one song on apple music , it plays like the first 7 seconds and then just stops. It will never play the whole song now, and you cannot 'scrub' and fast forward at all. I have tried resetting, signing in and out of apple music and switching quality settings to try to have the song cleared from the cache and re-downloaded, but nothing works! Anyone else?

That is very disheartening to hear, I thought they did a great job with the Meridian system tweaks.

I'm still on 2024.31.01 so my Meridian audio still sounds great.

I get the 7 seconds (ish) and it stops. Had to go to Spotify then back to Apple and it solved it but weird.

Yeah other songs are fine, just this one song seems to be corrupted and I can't re-download or refresh or clear cache manually

I have the same issue after the update as well. It lost the dynamic sound feel of the last month.

Good, it was too bass-heavy and much too loud. Before the Atmos update I was routinely listening at level 9-12 and after it was more like 6 and even lower was still too loud sometimes. But I had an issue yesterday where the amp didn't turn on at all and I had to reset the displays before I had any sound at all. They also seem to have broken the volume leveling (dynamic sound?) feature so each song is a totally different volume.

Got my Gen2 R1S and the new software seems to have completely disabled the 3D Surround options in the EQ.

After each OTA: Reset. If that doesn't clear the "glitch" then you can blame bad programming.

Same here. I have to admit that this is disappointing, given that now I know that their system has the potential to be excellent. My R1T with Meridian went back to being mediocre. It did help with my wife’s R1S with elevation system volume issue. Now we can actually have music and have a conversation.

Oh no! I was liking the sound of my Elevation system (2023 Quad). I wouldn't mind a bit finer gradation, but when I wanted it pounding I was turning it up to 20 for some songs!

I have the same issue as well. I now have to turn up the volume to the same level I used prior to the previous update. I’m not completely sure this is a problem. Keep in mind that just because the gain was increased doesn’t mean the auto quality was improved.

The bass response is different in 2025. I was having to turn down the 60 and 125? HZ from the Rock preset manually before the update.

Agree but I don’t think it’s just the gain. The sound is again a bit muffled and bass is way too low on some recordings, even in songs where it’s supposed to be pronounced

The gain was definitely lowered, but not as low as before 2024.31. I think it will just require playing with the EQ again to find sound that you like…. It’s the same system with the same capability.
