Yeah, I noticed the audio reverted back to poor after 35 update.

I have a Gen1 R1T Meridian and to me it still sounds as good as the last update. I think they toned down the gain a bit so it’s not blasting loud on 2 and there is less volume variation between tracks. But overall I think it still sounds as great as it did after the previous update.

Yep, it's back to mediocre. I really loved the mid bass in the previous update.

What everyone here needs to fix these audio issues is a good case of tinnitus. Honestly…can’t tell a damn bit if difference in sound between any of these updates.
Very true. Leaving Miramar MCAS, after airshow, my friend and I had no issues with sound quality.

Same issue here. Vocals are over amplified and instrumental mids are almost inaudible. Glad to hear others having the same issue as I was hoping it wasn’t a hardware problem.

I am disappointed in the update. There still are significant differences in sound based on the recording quality.

Rivian needs to add a control to allow for the 2024.31 sound and then for the 2024.35 sound. Let the user pick what they want. I finally had my EQ dialed in and enjoyed the sound quality and playback, then updated to 2024.35, and it is crap.

I concur with all of this. This update effectively destroyed the sound quality of the system. It's terrible, awful, no good and once again makes me question the effectiveness of the SD team. This is not the first time they've screwed something up in an update, and it shouldn't have happened.

There needs to be an updated release that resolves this issue. We shouldn't have to wait a month, minimum, for a fix to this. I'd strongly suggest that everyone log a support ticket for this issue and ask that it be pushed to the development team.

It’s funny how my ears kind of adjust to this shit system, then I drive the Tessie and I’m like oh yeah that’s what an awesome system sounds like .

Oh damn, I missed it! How was the air show?
It was free so it was great! ? Jokes aside, I’ve seen the Blue Angels many times before so the highlight for me was the F-22 demo. It was jaw dropping. And seeing the F-35B hover was pretty neat. The 22 will be in the show at Huntington Beach this weekend, but I won’t be attending; traffic nightmare.

I concluded something similar after measuring and EQ’ing a Gen 1 R1S Meridian system running 2024.35.00. It doesn’t sound very good. I give my reasons, analysis, and EQ recommendations here:

https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/how-to-improve-a-gen-1-rivian-r1s’s-meridian-sound-system-after-update-2024-27-01-35-00-with-simple-eq-changes.33811/
Looking at the graphs back to back:

I realize that it's Merian / Elevation so not 100% apples to apples, but it's beyond clear that A) they absolutely, positively botched something and B) what we're all hearing is demonstrated in the data.

Thanks for all you do! I just bought you a sake. :D

Update. Tried EQ recommendations as above with a soft reset of the entertainment system and things are back to being pretty good again. I think something happened with syncing of the audio channels during the last update and soft reset fixed it. Worth a try if you're having issues. Hold left/right on the steering wheel until system resets.
