I had these put on at Discount Tire this week. DT had some trouble locating them but I told them to look them up on Tire Rack and they found them. Tires were installed quickly and professionally. Here are some notes...
Rivian support had advised me prior to purchasing these that they would not install them at the SC but they would recalibrate my speedo after I had them installed at DT. They even made an appointment for next week for me to get this done, saying it was a super fast and simple procedure....but....Today I received a chat from the SC to tell me that support had unfortunately misinformed me about being able to recalibrate my Gen1 system for my new tires. I am disappointed but not super surprised based on B Diggs warning and what continues to be abysmal internal communications at Rivian. Shame on me for thinking that they would have one hand talking to the other at the company after my 2.5 years of ownership. Oh well hopefully they will let us update this ourselves at some point. Its not a huge deal but kind of annoying to say the least.
I had the AT 20" Pirellis with 21K miles on them. I had 5 and rotated in the spare. They still had some life in them with 6-10 32nds, but the noise drove me nuts. Lifetime efficiency was 2.11. I was able to sell these on FB marketplace in a day. Didn't get a ton of money but almost paid for 1 new tire lol.
The new tires were immediately much quieter. Like night and day. I would say similar to the Pirellis when new but that was 2.5 years ago so hard to compare new vs new. But it blew my mind on the first drive how loud the Pirellis had gotten. I had forgotten what the motors sounded like. Also the stereo sounds much better at speed without the howling tires.
I haven't put on many miles so efficiency is TBD. I'll report back after some miles. Right now it seems like ride / handling is similar. Maybe a touch harsher over uneven pavement but that may be due to noticing suspension clunks easier due to the quieter cabin. I haven't really ripped around much in these enough yet to comment on handling.
I would say the new tires look great. I do think the Pirellis look marginally better on the truck with the larger diameter and more aggressive tread and sidewall. But the new ones look really really good to my eye and I think you may have to be looking for these differences to even notice. They certainly don't look too small in the wheel wells. Some may argue they are a more appropriate size but its a matter of taste. Overall I have no regrets if the overall noise, handling, efficiency, and snow performance are at least as good or better than the Pirellis.
Rivian still specs the Pirellis in their "All Terrain" package for Gen2 and the Goodyears go on their "All Season" package. This is not a big deal for non-off-roader like me, but something for others to consider. I will say that the Goodyears look somewhat less aggressive and more all-season-y to my eye. If that translates to better range and less noise I am all for it.
Overall 2 days in I am really happy I pulled the trigger.
