That depends on how you look at it. It’s a definite trade up in off-road ability, serviceability and drivability in tight spaces.
Also a reduction in stress levels ?. I park my Jeep wherever it will fit. Drive it partially into snowbanks, park right next to minivans etc. Half of the jeep is exposed tires and plastic replaceable fenders, the other half is rock rail and steel bumpers. Go ahead and ding your doors on my jeep ? I dare you?

On the other hand I protect my Rivian like it's made from glass. Park it clear the hell away from anyone and drive it very carefully. Can be stressful sometimes, but damn it's an amazing machine! I had a Lotus Elise that I basically built from scratch. They are made from fiberglass so I had to be very careful with that car, so the Riv is slightly less stressful than owning that thing. With the truck bed/storage, speed /handling/off-road ability, room to haul all my kids and gear and charge it off my home solar it's by far my favorite vehicle.

I live in a relatively rural area with tons of parking space so it isn't a huge problem. If I lived in NYC though, I'd probably drive a Jeep also!

$10K off a Rubicon 4xe isn’t much of a discount. That $71K vehicle is probably sub $50K the second you drive off the lot. Jeep discounts are insane these days because they overproduced and overpriced them. And Jeep reliability is worse than Rivians lol.

Jeeps suck.

You have more posts here than miles on your Rivian. But why did you switch to a chick's vehicle?

While the idea shared by all plugin hybrids of having “xx Miles” EV range sounds great, it is not really true. I have not tried the Jeep 4xe but have driven many including BMW X5 and found this. If you accelerate quickly , climb a hill, or try to go over 70 mph the ICE kicks in to assist. A common joy of all my 6 different EVs over years has been that quiet, quick, smooth, and effortless acceleration. The plugin hybrids simply don’t have that.
With that said, Is the Jeep any different?

Thanks for reading..
My biggest issue would be not being able to enjoy the EV driving dynamics which I find to be superior to ICE as well. That's why the only hybrid type I would consider would be a Ramcharger type system where it drives like a full EV but the ICE is just a generator to charge the battery for range extension.

I did not that existed. I have a BMW i3 with a 1.7 gallon tank and little scooter motor that hold the battery at 7%. I have burned 10 gallons in 6 years but love the concept. US postal service almost got a similar setup but landed on all gas☹

Agreed Stellantis is having trouble selling vehicles across their brands (why?) and their reliability is always ranked low.

Well for starters the new Grand Cherokee design is hilariously ugly, which is really a shame as they'd always been pretty good looking vehicles for years.

Lol.. one of the members here PM'd me that he lives right next-door the the Jeep dealership and he saw my R1T being driven out of their parking lot today. He went in and confirmed that it was just traded in for a 4xe Rubicon.

Hopefully whoever ends up with it joins this forum so I can explain what that 120V plug is for that's coming out the horn hole by the driver side tow hook ?

Just wanted to mention I traded in my R1T for a Wrangler 4xe Rubicon yesterday.
The Jeep 4xe has about a 30 mile all battery (17kWh pack) range and a 340mi ICE range. It's got 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with actual real lockers front and rear. That 30 mil battery range should suite me fine for probably 95% off my driving (I work from home). The dealer gave me $60K on the Rivian trade-in which in NY goes 100% to the pre-tax value of the new vehicle, so I actually will end up about $1,900 ahead once I file my taxes and get the $3,750 Fed tax credit early next year.

Jeep is trying to clear out 2024 models right now, so they have crazy incentives. The Rubicon was $71K, but with incentives it knocked $10K off so it was $61K before the $3,750 fed tax credit.

When trading it in, I forgot to give them the camp speaker as I replaced it with a draw a couple months back, I also forgot to give them the bag for the tonneau cover panels, I kept the NACS-J1772 adapter I just received two weeks ago, and I also kept the wristband because that did not come with my R1T. I guess I'll sell the NACS adapter as the Jeep only has level 2 charging.

I was a pre March price increase customer, after the fed tax credit I took in 2023, my R1T cost $68K, I had it for almost two full years and got $60K for it on the trade in, I consider that pretty decent.

Old ride meet new ride....

Is the that a Quad? Mine was 73,000 and the only change was the forest green. I like the jeep, but it did not have the head room for me.

In the beginning of this year, I thought I was going to trade in my 2019 Wrangler (45k miles) for something else to compliment my R1T. After a couple of Rivian service visits this year, and winter range, has me looking to replace the Rivian. Part of the thing I love about my Jeep is its a 2 door, theb4 doors don't interest me, even with the drivetrain options the 4 doors get. Just not sure what I want to replace the R1T, a truck or 2 seat sports car (Pennsylvania roads worry me with sport car wheels).

Not to mention, when I had a problem with one Jeep dealer, I just went to another one and used them for my business.

Jeep Wranglers are the most unsafe vehicle you can own. I like the looks and all, but going from safest (Rivian) to worst would be my concern.
