Turn signal - let’s improve it!!

I took possession of my R1T on 9/22. Loving it.
One request though: can they please improve the turn signal? It ‘s annoying that you need to put it on to switch lanes but it will not stop blinking once you’re done changing lanes…
Does logic does work when in highway mode mode not in normal driving.

Push it halfway to get three blinks. If your lane change takes longer than three blinks, push it down again so you get another three blinks. I fixed it.

There's two modes:
1/2 way = 3 blinks
all the way = stays on

This is similar to most cars made in about the past decade or so

Also if you're using D+ highway assist, the turn signal automatically turns off after your lane change.

If you have a 2025 make sure "lane change on demand" is turned on in driver assistance settings. if you click the turn signal all the way down it will complete the lane change for you and turn off the signal. If you take over the lane change at any point in time, it will let you do so, and then re-engage highway assist and turn off the signal automatically.

Otherwise, if you're not using highway assist, yes. The tap will just blink 3 times

My BMW 3 series was "smarter" and would stop blinking once the lane change was completed... regardless of how many blinks it took.

Tesla can do this too. Rivian only will if you are using highway assist

A quick note on this - don't be alarmed if you see lane change on demand turned off, and when you try to turn it on it just flips itself back off.

This is a known software bug. It's on. When you engage highway assist it'll work

The Tesla Model Y that I drove last month did this without DA active --seems to be default for most/all Teslas?

Yes this is correct. It turns off without autopilot or fsd engaged. Even with the half press of the turn signal it will not turn off after 3 blinks only when turn is completed.

Now if they could just make it loud enough to actually hear when it's still on... (though the camera on the dash does help some with that now).

Does anyone else wish it was 5 blinks instead of 3? Only 3 may not be enough time to signal before initiating a turn or lane change.

Couldn’t agree more, bloody thing is too clever binging & bonging when you don’t use the indicators to change lanes, but when you do use them, & that silly animation shows you’ve changed lanes, it carries on regardless!
so frustrating & so simple to fix!!!
