1. There are a lot of customer complaints regarding premium auto sound quality being sub-par. is this something that is on the roadmap to fix?Alright, enough talking... ask away!
Nice to see you're around here Quinn. The title says it all, folks! Rivian has invited me to moderate a Q&A fireside chat with Wassym Bensaid this Wednesday, November 20th, at their Cars & Coffee event at the LA Auto Show. I'm here to ask for questions you have that you'd like me to ask!
Got questions you'd like me to ask? Wassym is an open book on most topics, so feel free to ask about the R1 lineup, the upcoming R2/R3 platforms, or Rivian’s past and future plans. While I can’t guarantee an answer to anything, I’ve been told I can ask just about everything!
Please upvote the questions you’d most like answered with the "? Like" reaction so I can prioritize our limited time together.
Signups for the event have closed, but I’m working with Rivian the best I can to ensure there’s some form of a recording available for those who can’t attend.

Absolutely agree. I was thrilled about the blind spot camera but the resolution is poor and at night it is just glare. Clearly they had cameras for this reason but the gen 2 ones are 8x better?! Why such a huge difference? Software such as driver + really feels lacking.@Snazzy Labs
What are the plans for long term support for Gen 1? Why does it feel like Gen 1 owners are getting left behind when we were told the hardware had plenty of room to grow? Should we expect any more meaningful updates for Driver+ or has it been deprecated?
What does he say to Gen 1 owners who feel they have been abandoned from a Driver+/autonomy standpoint?
At least we are informed about how piss poor the overall efficiency of this vehicle really is. Without a proper off mode for the car, this is never going to get better. Even shipping mode does nothing and they are completely evasive every time asked. The EPA numbers are effectively a lie in the real world. They should focus on that instead of turning every setting back to a default mode.I, too, watched the Q/A session where Wassym made the “1 mile per day” drain statement. I also figured he meant 1% per day. But, neither is a reality for most. I have also been told by service personnel, multiple times, that losses well in excess of 1% per day are considered normal and acceptable.
On a related note - why is parasitic drain factored into Trip Meter calculations? Isn’t the Trip Meter supposed to give useable data on actual DRIVING efficiency? As it is, the actual driving calculations are distorted by the idle time (vampire drain) to actual drive time ratio. The more time the car is idle, the more VD creeps into Trip Meter calculations and the more meaningless the Trip efficiency calculations become. if you drive 200 miles in one day, you will get a markedly higher efficiency calculation (m/kWh) than if you spread that same distance over 2, 3, or more days.
The other day, I decided it was time for a spreadsheet. Trip A data will be reset to zero every day. Trip B will keep on running (24/7). After only 3 days and a little over 100 miles, Trip B is showing 5 kWh (VD) more usage than Trip A. 2.13 m/kWh vs. 1.94 m/kWh. For just three days, the projected range on the Trip A meter is 278 miles vs. 254 miles on the Trip B meter. Thank you vampire drain ?
Regular Cruise Control is what it does when towing - Adaptive Cruise Control is not available when towing. When not towing, aka the other 99% of the time most people are driving the vehicle, the vehicle uses Adaptive Cruise Control or, when that's not available for whatever reason, nothing. The car has regular cruise control. I've had it come up maybe while towing.
I agree with the question, but there is no way he will answer it if they won't answer it in the earnings call. The earnings call would have the right people authorized to answer also. I bet answers to that kind of question needs a lot of approval because it would likely have a direct impact on the stock price. I suspect he will stick to technical questions only.Nice to see you're around here Quinn.
My question would be about financials, being all Rivian fans here we want nothing but success for them hence why many of us purchased RIVN stock (putting our money where our mouth is): How long does he think it will take Rivian to be profitable?
THIS^I would like to know when V2H (bi-directional charging) will be turned on and if they will build a dedicated home charger/inverter for this (I think he said previously that they would but didn’t know if plan has changed). Thx!!
