Sport Mode for my non-performance!!

So, i took out my frunk to try and retrofit a 12 v outlet. But then i had to run a quick errand. Truck gave me the "Frunk escape switch inactive ". So i quickly reinstalled frunk tub, and reconnected both side plugs.
When i got in my truck "Sport" mode was available. So I selected it! Omg truck is so much quicker! But no other modes are available now! All modes are grayed out. Software reset, no help. Vehicle reset, no help. I know I gotta get it all reset, but i will miss Sport mode!

I'm not sure I want to fix this right now! I'm not going off road anytime soon! First pic is Driver modes grayed out, second pic is confirmation I'm in sport mode.. Race trac.

It will probably reset when your truck sleeps anyway. Mine does overnight out of sport mode on my trimax. It isn't very pleasant and I hope Rivian can do something to let the truck stay in the mode I put it in.

As a radical libertarian bordering on anarch-capitalist, I've had to also realize that all EVs are well past any form of free market. Somewhere, there's a line in a regulation that says Rivian gets $20 every time they build a car compliant with regulation X, and they do it.

The tri has a lower rated range than the dual, and my OG quad allowed it so idk why it couldn’t be done.

I believe Rivian EPA distance advertised is based on All Purpose mode that I also believe decouple the rear motors whenever the added power isn't needed.

The Trimax is rated at 371 EPA miles and the G1 Quad-Lrg is rated at 328 miles in All Purpose, which does not decouple the rear motors. So ballpark 13% greater range.

The battery pack for Trimax is 141kwh. And the G1 Quad-Lrg is 131kwh....so roughly 7.5% larger in G2 max vs G1 lrg.

Assuming the motor/drive is pretty comparable, with a slight nod to the Trimax...that leaves some gap between battery size and range increase...that my thoughts are....that they are achieving thru decoupling those rear motors.

So...unfortunately....my guess is that decision to take credit for that added range...that isn't accounted for in that 7.5% larger battery....means it has to reset to the mode used for EPA range rating...which is too bad....because I am like you...in that I would gladly give up those miles to stay in a mode that keeps all motors engaged and not have to toggle that every drive after a sleep cycle reset.

OP, please let us know if this resolves itself. I would forgo all other modes to keep sport mode all the time, but I don't want a broken vehicle. Are there any other things not working?

I found that my vehicle seems to keep it in Snow mode when I turn that on. So, that's how I can keep it in full time AWD.

@usofrob I'm gonna wait a couple weeks, and enjoy the Sport mode. I am also watching 2 other threads with similar issues. Neither of those have been resolved, and have stumped the SC. Looks like I might be able to select Towing Mode. After a couple weeks, I'll try that.
So far I tried the software reset, and vehicle reset. Also let the truck sleep overnight (no charging) still no help.
