The whole praising of a range extender as the goldilocks solution made me laugh, though it will be useful for a subset of customers who town long distance or go far off grid. Otherwise, it will be good for boomers like Jay who are worried when they get down to 100 miles of range.. That being said, an EREV will be a great gateway drug to BEV.

I had a PHEV and I hated it whenever I ran out of juice and the motor kicked in. The Scout BEV looks cool but I highly doubt the 350 miles range prediction on those tires with a 120-130KWh battery.

He's mis-speaking by saying you can just put gas in it and drive. Yes you "can" but as someone who works on VW group plug ins, that is the worst thing to do. A plug in is made to be plugged in, if it is constantly recharged by the on board generator the battery will slowly balance down and start throwing faults. And if the REV version truly only has a 5k towing capacity that tells me that the generator is massively undersized and trust me Whoever buys one of these and never charges it and just tops up the tank is gonna be wildly disappointed, other than that 4 cylinder screaming the whole time you're driving, you're range will be far less that the 350miles it's supposed to extend after the battery is depleted. I'm not against this concept but I hate to say that the Ramcharger systems looks better. The non-REV version of this vehicle already exists, it's called a Rivian.

Side note, how much you wanna bet the REV lfp battery is an adaption of the Rivian base battery and the EV version battery will be an adaption of the max pack.

My Equinox EV has wiper controls on the turn indicator stalk, and HVAC has a couple of dials. The steering wheel has the cruise control. It’s my 5th EV, and I like those features. The idea of having to look at your screen to change wiper speed, as I did on my Tesla, is ridiculous.

Rivian has those on the stalk as well. I don’t need the HVAC dials, that’s what auto is for. Set it to 70 and let the truck figure it out.
