After getting the latest update, I was most excited about getting the "Go Chime" on my Gen1 T. My commute has plenty of annoyingly long lights, so the idea that it would just beep at me to go was highly anticipated by me.

Straight up, doesn't work on my R1T. The only times the chime has ever gone off, is in drive-thrus or odd situations where it's a car moving away from me at around a 45º angle from front-center. It's the weirdest thing and was just curious what everyone else's experiences were with this with their Gen1 vehicles.

Heard the chime for the first time this weekend.

I was in a drive thru.

Doesn't work here either. Not sure what I would use it for anyway, but that's a different conversation.

The release notes specify that it is based in the vehicle in front of you and (at least Gen 1) does not look for traffic lights

I would assume it behaves the same in both generations - but in my gen 2 it waits until well after you should start moving to remind you. Rather than chiming EVERY time a car in front of you moves, it chimes only when it's sure you're not paying attention, and you should have gone already

And as others have said, it doesn't look at traffic lights.

Works for me. But I am usually moving long before it would beep. Are you waiting long enough?
Yea, I've tried a couple times on the street where the car in front is easily 2 car lengths ahead of me and still doesn't beep.

If only it would go based on lights, but being Gen1 I've given up hope on anything like that ever coming to this truck. I'm talking about specifically when there's a car in front it still won't do the chime.

Have no idea if it works, gen 1 or gen 2. I pay attention to the task at hand.

Now my Fisker Ocean, would still chime occasionally after already being on the throttle. It was paying attention to the light and chiming as soon as it registered.

Noticed it once so far with my Gen1. Was at a light and it turned green. I was slow to react to the light changing.

No, I was the second car at the light.

Only time I have heard it is at a drive-thru, car in front of me (which hadn't moved yet) was at a 45 degree angle.

I've tried to wait it out at a couple of lights where I was last in line but if it was going to chime it is waiting so long that I'm not all that sure you'd make the light.

My summation: Good idea, way too conservative on the implementation.

This is anecdotal and comparing it to my prior Tesla...

Are you looking ahead when testing the chime? On a Tesla (and presumably on the Rivian with an in-cabin camera) it will only chime if you aren't attentive.

I tested this with my R1S after the update and it works every time if:
- I am clearly not looking forward when the vehicle ahead starts moving
- I wait almost a full 2-3 seconds, which is quite long. Previously I tested but not that long. 2-3 seconds sounds short, but if you're just waiting at a light when everyone already moved, it is way long and awkward haha.

I can't speak for those Rivians without the inside camera.

Tested it a couple of times just for fun. Worked both times as expected when the car in front pulled away at the light and I didn't move.

Yeah, it does not work well. I already disabled the feature unfortunately.
