Folks have knowingly and unknowingly skipped OTAs in the past? I don't believe participation is mandatory. The car still drives on whatever version it has. But, yeah, it's a bit much.
Oh definitely. I'm tired, but I also have FOMO, so I still want the latest and greatest. Yes, I'm unwell:headbang:

Dude set it to auto update in the middle of the night and you won't have to worry about it. Just remember the post update hard/soft reset!
I'm unsure which would annoy me more. Stuff changing without my knowledge, or having to manage the installation so I know when to expect stuff changing.

It's a weird place to be having the apathy of a Genx'er, and the anxiety of ADHD. I both don't care at all, and simultaneously need to manage every single detail of everything.

So, yea, like @COdogman I'm tired :D

The in vehicle UI has been pretty good about informing about changes after an update.

Of course perhaps it's the boomer in you that's just clicking to make it go away as fast as possible without looking at what information it's presenting.

I don't think I expected such frequent updates. I still love it, but yes, it's exhausting attempting to keep up with it. First world problems! :CWL:
Think about it this way: every update makes your Rivian better.

I don't mind them as long as they come with some documentation. More than 2 years of ownership, within the last 3 months I have gotten two Driver+ updates out of the blue with no explanation. In roughly the same period I've been prompted to update keyfob, also out of the blue and with no explanation. Furthermore, once I bring the fob to the vehicle (as asked) the update prompt disappeared. Did it update? who knows?! This popped up again the other day just as I was taking my cat to the vet. I delayed it to another time. The next day, I had the fob with me to follow-up. No trace of the update anywhere in menus. Are they just messing with me? (kidding)

Every single type of update should be handled like the OTAs. List it in update menu, along with documentation; even if it's just a brief one or two sentence description.

Nah, my OCD won't me install without reading the fine print first. Might also be part boomer for that though. Hard to say.

Everybody - quit your belly aching. Some updates are better than others, but it’s really cool to have a constantly evolving vehicle. For sure, there have been updates that were pretty meh, but others, for me, have been game changers. For instance, the last update included suspension changes to my ‘23 R1T that made my rig so much more enjoyable to drive. I was about to schedule an SC appointment to address the rear suspension noise, but that was magically resolved with 2025.10. Hopefully, this monthly evolution will continue for quite some time. I know there will come a day when the Gen 1 R1’s will be left behind. Oh, well.

Not sure why people do this. I have never done this in 2.5 years and my updates have always been ok. I've actually never done a hard reset in 2.5 years, just a few soft resets.

@COdogman Guess what?!?! The Android app just updated.

I'm sure this is going to be great fun with my PAAK already not working right.

Weeee........Change for the sake of change, this is awesome.

After reading this thread I’m not disappointed with the negativity. No idea what this update does but the complaint du jour is “too many updates” on a vehicle thats central feature is SAS.

Turn the volume of the turn signal down. Maybe even change it to something a little more soothing. Oh, and make the interface snappier on Gen 2's. My Gen 1 was faster.

The core hardware underpinning the infotainment is nearly identical between the two.
