Is the NACS be compatible with the RIVIAN (TESLA sourced) adaptor? It would be nice if it were in order to have the option of using it if the CCS was being used.

There is no technical reason why it shouldn't work. So count on it!

I discovered Walmart two years ago. For groceries, I will never go anywhere else. The best/lowest prices always bar none without having to buy 100 lb. of everything.
Walmart's apparent philosophy for reaping untold fortunes (charge less!) may very likely be applied to its new EV charging business. And that appears to be the case, indeed.

Have said this forever and plenty on here already: the reign of those EV charging companies already out there in my view scamming, extorting, ripping off EV owners with the worst ever state-sanctioned robbery prices, well, mene mene tekel upharsin. Tick tock, tick tock.

And Walmarts for the most part being away from interstates is not necessarily a bad thing, either. Indeed, many travelers will avoid interstates, and Walmarts are everywhere.

Either NACS or CCS, a double win-win for Rivian.

That would be ideal. I see that Pilot and TA are starting to finally put chargers in at their locations.

Yeah maybe but it's going to be difficult to be profitable if you are only putting chargers in remote areas. Rivian needs to do both.

Ah yes! Pilot is the charging station that I saw set up like a gas station.

Similar ideas were being kicked around low levels at Amazon in 2022ish and I’d love for this type of model to get started there too. Maybe an executive will eventually get behind the idea. They don’t have as many locations or overall reach, but they do have some other advantages from their cloud, tech, and media units. The idea would be similar but for Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh locations with discounts to Prime members.

I’d see both companies prioritizing ways to drive growth to their Walmart+ and Prime businesses.

I understand the money aspect. So, why aren't more existing gas stations adding 4 to 6 chargers? Most have room for it. They already have the land, building and facilities. It's just adding the equipment, the same as Walmart or these shopping centers

Because Walmart is funding the entire thing. Random Chevron station owner is more or less on their own which makes it cost prohibitive for all but a few. I expect as chargers become more ubiquitous the gap will narrow and more will do exactly that.

Good point. We need one in Newberry MI to make the Upper peninsula easier to travel.
