Is rivian going to bring to Gen3 or 2026 Gen2 refresh the range they promised when we put down our deposits for pre orders pre COVID?
Pretty impressed by what GM is offering... reviewers are actually 460m+ real world range. Dang!

Makes sense but hopefully rivian can squeeze more in! I'd do a hitch tire swing setup if giving back that space got me a bigger battery

There are some folks here that own both and can give a proper comparison.

My experience with the Silverado EV is 2 rentals. Plusses were range, efficiency was pretty good, back seat room. Downsides were interior, limited ground clearance, audio, and for me visibility was atrocious.

It has CarPlay if that works into your equation.

If you want a f/s truck and the ergonomics work for you, get a Silverado. I'll very much be sticking with my Rivian, but the range on the Chevy is really a game-changer if you can hold your bladder for 6 hours and really don't want to stop (or you tow a lot).

I am up for anyone who pushes the envelope on range. The GM trucks definitely aren't efficient, BUT they more than make up for it by going gonzo on the battery sizes. Meanwhile Tesla capped out at 100kwh like a decade ago it feels like, and when the CT finally broke through that ceiling, they gave it the smallest battery available in an EV truck and it barely gets 300mi.

Hopefully Rivian can find a way to get the capacity they touted in the original, true max pack!

It's a big enough jump in range that pulling my camper there's still a significant amount more juice. Could see 4 hours of driving still with my pop up which would be right on the money.
I love my rivian and hope they can catch up with the range and super cruise especially for towing when it's time to get a new one. I'll likely want to get into something else when the warranty is close to up on my Gen 1 quad

I pre ordered a CT and canceled that the night they announced the true specs....self driving isn't enough to sway most truck buyers.

It's interesting to note that the 283 mile LT with the 14 module, 119kw battery actually has a weight in line with the R1T, despite it being a bigger vehicle.

This strikes me as a bit of a silly and misleading list from Chevy's advertising team.

The two vehicles serve different purposes and the Rivian will be a far better "trail boss" if only due to size and suspension.

The Silverado would be a far better truck for full-size truck use cases

You can see this reflected in the numerous references to Chevy having bigger everything. Because it does. Because it's a bigger truck. To do bigger truck things.
