Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

Ok I’m really grasping for anything to buy this truck. I have a Lightning with the pro power system and run multiple rooms during winter power outages. Extension cords with power strips. Eg one strip to run my study: computer, Starlink, lights. Another extension for the living room strip to run TV, direct tv receiver. And a last extension to run the freezer. These are all connected concurrently but obviously not everything is drawing current at the same time.

The R1T has multiple outlets also. Is the 1500w limit a total for all outlets running at the same time or is this a singular limit? I’m considering each dual 120v outlet plug as one draw.

Total output of the onboard inverter is 1500 watts shared by all of the 120V outlets. I believe.

It’s for the entire truck. A massive miss on the Rivian side, especially compared to the Lightning. Very disappointing. I bought an EcoFlow Delta Max with 2400W output that I use when camping since 1500W won’t even power many small appliances. I then charge the EcoFlow box at 1500W from the truck. It’s stupid that I’m hauling around an extra giant battery pack because some bean counter wanted to save $20’or $50 and go with the 1500W inverter instead of at least a standard 1800W one, but the hack works. IMHO the inverter should be spec’ed to 240V/30A to supply a standard NEMA 14-30 outlet, similar to a mid-size portable generator.

Agree.

It should be 1.5kw per outlet and 3-5kw max across all

If you have a 15A receptacle, it should be able to deliver 15A to whatever you plug into it with a 15A plug. Anything less is just setting you up for ill-timed disappointment and frustration.

Correct. 1500+ a bit of headroom total across all outlets.

I carry an OUPES Mega 5 in the bed of my truck if I need significant remote power. At the time, I rationalized this as a possible “gas can” since it has a 5kWh battery if I need it. It’s big and bulky and like one of the other posters here, I can plug it into the truck to top back up if I need to.

6 months ago the utility company was digging down my street and cut the underground cable feeding our neighborhood leaving us with no power for about 24 hours.

Being able to leave the Mega 5 running in my garage with extension cords to two refrigerators, a chest freezer and the TV and router was nice. We could go out to dinner, public charge and then recharge the power station off the truck when we got back from dinner without ever interrupting the power to the appliances we were powering.

Why would you expect that? Do you expect the same of the outlets in your home that are protected by a single breaker? If so, you must trip a lot of breakers.

Ah so the dash reset is for all outlets. If one outlet trips all outlets are cut off.

I was hoping I could plug one room into the bed outlet and another room into the tunnel outlet. I have resets on each 120v plug on the Lightning.

Damn I really do like R1T’s.

Just get a power station. It will have a bigger inverter, you can leave it in your garage in a power outage and you can top it back up with either solar or from the 1500w outlet in the R1T if it gets low in a power outage.

Plus you can leave it in your house keeping the fridge going if you want to take your truck out to public charge.

There are so many options on the market right now for battery inverter power stations.

I'm quite fortunate in that I live in a newer (25 years old) neighborhood where all utilities are under ground so I don't think we've had an outage that has lasted more than an hour in the 20+ years we've lived there. That means I don't need my Rivian charger to double as a V2H conduit, but I would get a lot of use out of a system like the Wrangler Power Box referenced above.
