So this last weekend we took out the popup camper for a quick camping trip out in the Conifer CO area. We found a good spot using hipcamp, it's like an airbnb type app for camping reservations, if that's something you're into, you can save $10 with my link.
Basically, we bought this little popup for under 2k and took some time spiffing it up. I had to fix a water line and make a water heater bypass but I got it together before we went out!
I charged up the R1T to full and pulled it out about an hour and a half away from the house. We were only up there one night but the truck powered the campsite (lights, griddle, water pump, etc.) I was a little worried about the griddle tripping the breaker, but it didnt so that's good.
It was also my first time using the camp speaker for real. Have to say, I'm not disappointed. Although i would still never buy it had it not came with the truck.
The next morning we had to pack up the site and decided to hit the river we saw on our way up. Let the kids play in it and i made burgers on the gear tunnel door while i pretended i had a real camp kitchen lol.
I fully expected to need to stop and charge on the way up there because I didnt know how much electricity i would use running the site, so I told the truck, if you cant get me there with more than 69% lets charge. But we made it lol
When I got back home i had like 40 miles left or something but I was pretty impressed. I left at 100% but towed my little popup for about 3 hours total.
A pretty sweet father's day weekend! My one regret though, I didn't bring enough bug spray lol we ran out immediately and had to try and rely on those little bracelets and a bug candle, but the mosquitos were next level!
