I don't think this article is accurate with regards to his voting power. Someone has posted about it before, but my understanding is that one of the stock types comes with huge voting rights multipliers that give him an overwhelming majority of voting shares, contrary to the 7.6% referenced here. It depends on what type of stock was part of the divorce agreement but my assumption is that RJ would probably be willing to part with more of the normal stock to maintain his control of the company.

Well he’s an extreme example. There are plenty of divorced parents who still raise their kids jointly. Kids are resilient and turn out just fine.
