That's a good point. Sorry it hasn't hit you yet. It's interesting, when I was more in the Tesla life I used to live by the software update. I wonder if that was because I felt the car needed more, or if I was just excited about FSD? Hard to remember.

I haven't found myself caring much about software updates in the Rivian so far. I think it's in part because I really enjoy the vehicle as it and partially because I know the drivers assist won't be getting much better.

Evplay will add to the software excitement for me though. Can't wait
Well been pretty quiet on the Gen 1 front lately, so not much to be excited about. But when they had the big suspension update, I was waiting impatiently for it...

The crazy thing is that my email service is showing a 100% open rate. The actual clicks are higher, which means people are forwarding it (thank you!).
If it was saying 100%, then you should take it with a huge grain of salt. I found the email in a spam folder on Monday or Tuesday, so I definitely hadn't opened it by the time you made this post on Saturday!

Is there room in the dash to mount the GPS antenna so that it's not stuck on top of the dash? I have a toyota sequoia with an aftermarket Sony head unit and I have the GPS puck hidden in the dash and it works fine.

This is using CarPlay or Android Auto, so it uses your phone's GPS, not an external one. And displaying on the cars existing Display...

Not quite correct. The EV Play device for GEN 2 vehicles cannot connect to the CANBUS so it requires an external GPS antenna to check for vehicle movement so that some functions can be disabled while the vehicle is in motion.

OH, I have a Gen 1 so I never looked into Gen 2, that's terrible, I probably wouldn't use this then

The GPS antenna will also allow Waze and other nav apps to run natively on the EVPlay vs CP/AA which I'm sure will be a smoother experience. I plan to add the GPS antenna once it's available for my Gen 1

The car play and stuff will still use phone GPS I'm sure.

The car GPS is for switching to cams and stuff

I badly need this device to work. Without success I think I will end up selling the vehicle for some other EV with AA. Yet I like having the truck bed as I use it a lot for hauling bikes and miscellaneous loads here and there.

Yea, still in pre-shipment, interesting. I have a Service Appt next Friday, so I wouldn't be installing until after then anyway, but still hoping to get it soon.
