NEW SALE GOING - $100 off to commemorate the release of OpenPilot 0.10 !

It's like getting a free harness, or you can throw that $100 towards a harness from Xnor-Tech here - https://xnor.shop/products/rivian-generation-1-harness-kit and the longitudinal adapter here - https://xnor.shop/products/rivian-r1s-r1t-gen1-longitudinal-upgrade-kit?variant=53071588131139

Head to https://comma.ai/shop and secure yours before they end the sale again.
Do you think they'll discount further for Labor Day, or will this likely be the best price we'll see?

I doubt we'll ever see a sale like the July 4th sale again. $100 off is about the best I thing going forward. They had some hardware purchase goals that they used the July sale for and ended up selling more stock than they anticipated (which is why it ended a little early). Now, this is just my opinion. I have no connection with Comma. Just based on info I've heard.

I've still got a bad taste in my mouth from the unprofessional way they handled ending the $800 sale early, while still showing on the website that it was on sale. Unless they have an $800 sale again, some day, I don't really see myself getting one.

I hear you, and if they were a larger company I might agree completely. The fact is I paid full price for mine and I would do it again, now having it these past 6 months. I know that's not your point, I'm just saying it has value regardless of the sale. Great engineers, programmers, etc. etc. don't necessarily make great businessmen, so I give them a little leeway, doesn't mean everybody has to. I'm glad there are people that stick to their the things that they stand for. Helps keep people honest !

Indeed. It's not currently compatible with Gen 2 simply because there hasn't yet been any work put in to port OP over to it. I'll bet once Rivian starts charging a subscription fee for RAP+ that there will be some more interest in doing so.

That being said, if you have a Gen 2 and are willing to be a guinea pig, Lukas is looking for volunteers to help create a Gen 2 port. Let me know.
I have a harness installed in my R1S and R1T. I was moving the Comma between the two with a magnetic mount and it's been working GREAT. I'm trading my R1S for a Gen2 tomorrow, and I'm already anticipating missing Openpilot. I am very willing to be a guinea pig for a Gen2 port.

That's a bit misleading as Lukas provides a €100 discount at checkout, so it's more like:

Comma Harness $99 + Loetkolben Long for comma harness 349eu = $448 total

or

Loetkolben Harness €225 + Loetkolben Long for Loetkolben Harness €199 (€299 minus €100 discount) = €424 total

Yeah that post was before he started doing the discount I believe. I will go back and edit it in case someone else comes across it.

I know it was an older post. I was only referring which options/combination to consider to go with. Not the pricing since there is no sale from today's date.

I may look into buying a used comma, instead.

There you go ! There used to be one now and then pop up in the For Sale thread on the Comma Discord, but I haven't seen any in a while - mostly people posting WTB.

They don't typically sell for much less than new - around $800-850. As Kaos said, people tend to hold on to them.

Might get really lucky and find one as low as $700, but you won't get the 1-year warranty or 30-day no questions asked return window. And, if there's ever a Comma 4, you won't be able to trade it in for a discount since you weren't the original owner. IMO, not worth it to save $150 (or $50 when it was on sale).

You can probably find a Comma 3 for around $500, but just be aware that the C3 is no longer officially supported: https://www.thecommaspace.com/comma...ma-3-community-reactions-and-what-comes-next/

It's not just the $200. I don't like the way I was treated during the supposed sale over the 4th of July. I had really been looking forward to adding this capability to my truck, but I am not currently inclined to give that outfit my money.

@gerrylum . I noticed that the comma favored the left side of the lane more often than not. Is it correctable? Also, is there a way to turn off the comma without stepping on the brake?
