San Antonio uses CPS Energy, and its 13 cents per kWh. Used to live in Dallas, but can't remember all the energy providers there. Maybe Reliant?

I'm in a deregulated area in TX, shopped around on Powertochoose to find a plan before my last one expired, and found a fixed rate plan at Gexa Energy that allows me to pair my Rivian to their app and give me a credit for all kWh charged to my Rivian between 11p and 5a.

Thank you for your responses. We live in Tyler and have used TXU for years. A couple of years ago they had a plan so that you can charge for free from 7:00PM to 2:00AM for free. That plan has been revised a couple of times and now you can charge from midnight to 4:00AM for 50% off. The base rate which includes Oncor delivery fees is 18.9 cents. Time to find something new,

We're in a little corner of the DFW area where we are served by a co-op, so have no choice in our provider. That said, We've been paying about $0.11/kWhr all day and night for the whole 15 years we've lived in the house. They don't have any EV incentives or anything else like that, but the pricing is good enough that it doesn't really matter in the end.

I guess they offer different plans to different locations. I have this TXU plan now, and it's still on their web site for my zip code. The rate is is about the same but I use it for the free night usage.

We are on Pedernales Electric (PEC) here in Hays County.
We have time of use rates, which shift seasonally (summer rates higher). Paying from 4.5¢/kW to charge late at night. Max peak rate during summer is 9.7¢/kW.

When we have both EVs plugged in, I reduce the charge rate for my R1T overnight so that we don't trip the 60A circuit breaker so that we don't end up charging neither EV. My bad for not sizing a larger feed years ago.

I'm using Reliant free nights plan so I can charge in the wee hours at no cost, but I have solar panels to offset the rather high daytime rate. The Gexa plan is fairly enticing, assuming you don't have (or plan to have) solar.

Thank you for your response. Talked with TXU on Monday and they did not offer me that plan. You have a great plan. The best free charging we got was from 7:00PM to 2:00AM. The following year it went to free charging from 7:00PM to 1:00AM.

Check out Base Power if it's available in your area. Gives you battery backup for relatively cheap. I was going to switch, but they are not able to do 2+ panel installs yet. They let you lock in for multiple years and rates were very competitive when I looked.....

We r with just energy that we signed up at sam's club. Free nights from 9 to 7. We have two EVs so it is well worth it

I'm still getting capital credit checks from the coop provider in the Woodlands and haven't lived there in over a decade. They we're great to deal when we lived there.
