Apple iOS 26 - Apple Maps send to Rivian Issue

I updated my iPhone 16 Pro to iOS 26 yesterday and use the apple maps to send the location to Rivian so the destination is up for me to press the go button and drive on. Since the iOS 26 update, when I send the location from Apple Maps, I get an error message saying “Can't send to vehicle
This app or format isn't supported.”

I reached out to Apple support logging this as a potential bug in Apple Maps but I was told the app is working as designed as Rivian does not integrate with Apple CarPlay. I find this suspect as this worked with iOS 18. This functionality also works with Google Maps on this latest update as for this morning.

Anyone else finding this an issue?

I don’t think this ever worked with Apple Maps (or Waze). The send-to feature in the app only ever worked with Google Maps by design.
And no, CarPlay is not a thing for Rivian

This is categorically incorrect. I use send to Rivian from Apple Maps all the time. The OP even mentions that this worked for them on iOS 18.

I updated mine also. After updating I tried to mirror my phone to my Mac and it said I needed to download another update. Once the phone downloaded the update I was all good. Funny thing was, it was still only iOS 26. Try going back to Software Updates and see if iOS is available again to download.

I was looking for the time it would take for me to get there and send it to my Rivian. Haha

Same here. Can’t share via Apple Maps but could before. Can share with Google Maps before and after iOS 26.

I experienced the same thing after upgrading to ios26. I get a message that says “ Can’t send to vehicle. The app or format isn’t supported” it worked fine before the upgrade. I’m also seeing the same error sending from Google Maps which also worked fine before the upgrade

Yes, also broken for me since the early 26 betas, worked all the time before that. I was waiting to complain until the final release came out and it is still definitely broken. This has nothing to do with CarPlay. Hopefully Rivian will fix the iOS app soon as this is a very useful feature.

Same error for me trying to send the nearest World of Beer. I haven’t tried it for any other worlds yet

Appears to be a Rivian issue since it worked on 18 Mine has always worked but I also don’t update the day OS comes out. Like to see other people be the testers.
