Another data point: VIN 23,xxx. Advisor said the new PTC will be available mid-Oct (in my area) for install. For reference, I did not call the Rivian number, I just added the soonest available mobile appointment date from the app and indicated I wanted the new PTC installed. No mention of possible compatibility or incompatibility with my vehicle. They are checking with the mobile tech in the area to see if they are "comfortable" installing via mobile service and will revert back to me once they have confirmation. They mentioned the old PTC's were able to be installed via mobile. Sounds like for mobile install, it is based on the comfort level each individual tech may have providing the service.

I just got off the phone with Rivian and they told me that their “software tool” for checking is being updated with additional VINs that will be compatible with a retrofit. They are going to call me back. Hold out some hope Rivian OGs.

No, but I guess the gear tunnel could have been made taller if space for the cover wasn't there.

No haven’t checked - decided not to bother with it at the moment

I have a 150xx and would be really interested what you hear. Mine was at the service center a few weeks about about to have the 1.5 installed and they recommended waiting for this, but now I'm being told incompatible. The service center is supposed to be giving me a call next week to explain what the difference would be.

Just thought I'd share that the mobile tech here in Sonoma County said that all V1 warranty fixes will be done with a V1 tonneau. Not sure if I believe that (especially since there's a point where V1 parts will all be gone), but thought I'd share.

I'm on the fence with waiting for mine to die -- it's strangely one of the only things that hasn't had an issue on my 2022 R1T with almost 60k miles -- or just swapping it out proactively. I have an extended warranty and might see if they'd cover the V2 if it fails.

If it is true, it's not a good look for Rivian to replace a part with a known flawed and prone to failure design with the same part.

EDIT: I called Rivian and they listed mine as compatible. VIN = 101XX

I think this compatibility thing is all in flux, info-wise. I called in this morning, was told "probably not but let me check and call you back". On callback was told that it actually maybe is possible but is up to the individual service center and what parts they have available (and implied that the rails were key to the equation) and that the only way to know for sure is to open a ticket with them. I told him to go ahead and do so, so perhaps I'll find out in a few months? This is an early VIN 2022 R1T that appears to have just rails for manual slats (I picked it up used recently so don't know how it was ordered)

They called me back again today and told me that the South SF SC got back them and gave the wiring harness excuse and that I've now been downgraded to "no".
