Some ‘23 were built with wiring. Even if it was never built with PTC.
Seemingly the gap without the harness is from November '22 - April '23 from posts by people on either side of that window.

You, sir, have earned yourself a beer 🍻

Want me to order you a wiring harness? They're in stock.

So is almost all of the rest of the kit too...

Can you share the source for this parts list/inventory status? Trying to figure out why my install keeps getting delayed, if it's always the same part that's not available or if the whole BOM is variable and they're simply not storing "my" parts and instead handing them to somebody else.

On my 4th rescheduling, this time they pushed it back two months, starting to get rediculous.

Had a good chat with Mobile Service today about it. Ultimate advice was to be as loud as we can on the forums and Reddit so corporate gets the message about the frustration around how this is being handled for those of us where it isn’t compatible.

From what they said, the issue itself seems fairly trivial — adding the wiring harness isn’t a big technical challenge and would only take about 30 minutes. The real problem is availability: there’s no sign of any harnesses at the SCs, and they’re not getting any info on whether they’ll be able to order them in the future.

I told them that if one comes available and there's a way to hack this process and install it for me, and that voids my warranty, so be it! (can't see that happening, but you never know)

Maybe I missed it in this thread, but I have Interrobang manual cover and while I do love it, I am removing it more and more. I am curious though with this new V3 cover can you stand on it like you can with Interrobang manual cover?

Not that I am standing on mine all the time, but when I need to reach my shelves in the garage that are over the Rivian I just stand on the cover as its SOLID as a rock.

Thanks,

Ken~

This is V2. Officially V3 does not exist. And you still can’t stand on it.

For anyone still following, successful install completed yesterday. Dropped off in Shelton Wednesday. Looks/works great on testing.

Good luck everyone.

Has anyone in the "not compatible with your VIN range" of vehicle had any success in pushing back and getting the Powered Tonneau Cover installed?

I tried my luck on the phone but the front-line folks don't really care about the why/how -- just whether the VIN is compatible or not. Never really wanted a PTC before but this new version looks like it might be worth it.

I haven't followed up with service since my lengthy back and forth with seemingly all levels of Rivian. I was going to wait until the new year, but maybe I'll follow up with them this week. I'll report back when I do.

So, reached out and they still aren't doing the workaround to add the alternative harness. They said to check back in a couple months.

Thanks for the update, I guess we keep waiting although my enthusiasm has diminished so I may just keep my manual cover and spend the three grand on something else.
