Handling is good.

A score quieter than the Pirellis.

For those running a Comma - they provide a 2.04 LatAccellFactor on the T which is way better than the Pirellis (1.56 is what I was getting).

Efficiency is not as good as the Pirellis unfortunately. It's a little early to give proper numbers, but so far I am seeing about an 8-10% reduction. I'm hoping that when they wear a little, this might get a little better. The other thing is that here, the temps took a turn over the past week, so some of that could be that.
Bout to order these for the truck from discount. How much did you pay for it ?
I think the manager is trying to put 350 a piece !! That is same price as the Michelin

They are much cheaper at SimpleTire. Discount will price match though. There's also a $100 rebate gift card until sometime in November.

I called around to three local Discount Tires...one was willing to call Hankook and it did take them several phone calls to located them directly from Hankook as they were not in DT's systems.

Anyway I have them on order to be installed later this month.

(Indianapolis area)

Sadly my poj Pirellis need to be replaced. I was going to get these Hankooks and called Discount Tire to get them (they are currently listed at $295 on Simple tire). instead, Discount did a price match on the Michelins and gave them to me for $312 each (down $80 per tire). Just useful data. In any case, this thread saved me $320 so thanks!

Update 1 week in.

I did have to request that discount tire call Hankook directly to order these, the tires were not in the discount tire system. They pull them from a state away.

the road driving is smoother, tracks a little better and slightly quieter. No comment on braking at this point.
One downside is that in heavy bumps like bridge to road transitions it’s a bit of a heavier “drop” : bump. Not sure if the totes are heavier or what.
Generally I like them better

7 lbs heavier. And likely stiffer sidewalls and harder compound. Note 700 vs 900 UTQG.

When you get more miles let us know if you observe an efficiency impact.

Don’t know if this helps anyone, but I did just recently get this through Discount Tire on 11/25. Ordered in person and price matched with Mavis Tire.

It is quieter but definitely a hit on range, at least in the first 150 miles. Will keep you all posted in the next couple of weeks.

Any further data on the range? I'm due for tires and trying to decide if these are worth the savings or if I should go Michelin

I would start out saying, I'm in San Diego, CA and have had the vehicle (R1S Dual on 21's with Aero Covers on) for <2 years. Our temperature is fairly consistent throughout the years. I don't know how much temperature affects it, but I figured I'd put it out there.

Driving about 55-60% highway, 40-45% city. On highway, mostly cruising from 75-80 mph. I wouldn't say I have a lead foot, but I'll definitely punch it every now and then to pass someone.

I've made no difference in my driving habits or driving highway/city since the tire change. But here's where I'm at.

The patterns do make the tire look "more aggressive", but it's still an ordinary all-season/highway tire. I would say these tires are quieter, plushier, rides well compare to the originals. Pretty comfy I would say.

Original Set of Tires (Original Pirellis):
33,500 miles over 13,684 kWh = averaging 2.45 mi/kWh

New Set of Tires (Hankook iON HT):
744 miles over 352 kWh = averaging 2.11 mi/kWh

Looking at it, it appears to be a 15% efficiency loss.

Based on quick math, if I compare the same 33,500 miles at 2.11 mi/kWh, I would require 2,192 kWh more than the Original Pirellis. And since I normally charge at night (Super Off Peak) at about $0.10/kWh, appears to be ~$220. So I guess if I double it to 67,000 miles for life of the tires, then maybe about ~$440.

With Hankook @ $235/tire (Price Matched with Mavis) vs Michelin Defender @ $392/tire (Discount Tire), not considering any rebates, I might end up slightly ahead. But at $282-296/tire, the Defender with rebates is definitely worth considering.

Just my two cents. Hope that helps!

I am really surprised everyone is reporting 10-15% efficiency loss with these tires. I put the Hankook ion EVO AS SUV tires on my Mach-e and measured a 7% improvement over the OEM tires. So I expected the the iON HTs so be as efficient or more than the Rivian OEM tires. Wow. What a disappointment.

Ok.... if 20 people in the country nerd out over tires and their efficiency impacts more than me, I'd love to meet them.

To keep it short: New tires are about 10 to 15% less efficient than worn tires. The last 10,000 miles of tire life on the old tires are going to be substantially more efficient than the first 10,000 miles of your new tires. Basically, you went from one extreme to the next.

Judge these based on the full life of the tires.

I have the Hankook 21's BTW.

Haha, guess I AM a nerd! 🤓

It all started out with a photo from the Rivian screen, and the next thing I know, I'm writing paragraphs lol! I think I'm geeking out on them more for everyone on here, so you all have some data points to make an informative purchasing decision. 😄

I agree, it's still too early to tell. But as I get more mileage onto them, I'll report back in on numbers throughout the life of the tires. Oh, and also on 21's. Hope that helps everyone in the interim.

Cheers!
