2023 R1s conserve more no power

Well it has all terrain tires a lot noise .. but build is a lot better also in my two days the miles and soc is better.. hopefully it is something Rivian can fix hate to give up on it .. already purchased too.. beside not having more customization it is ok … my x was a lot better but ride was a more harsh

As the profile of the vehicle gets bigger, the more noticeable noise will happen.
Tire profiles also matter.

The description does sound like the speed limit setting some service centers put on loaners…although I think that is usually set at 70mph.

It’s probably time to call Rivian. If they won’t help you because you aren’t officially the owner yet, I would probably ask the seller to figure it out before buying or just walk away

I had no problems getting up to top speed and holding it there for quite a while in conserve some time back.

Just drove it again Pedal picks up speed if pressing about 10 to 15 percent any more it does not go I guess that’s how you conserve? I got it up to 60 now but barely pressing on pedal and slowly getting up there if I press any hard it does not go

There’s a problem with your Rivian and you should have Rivian Service check it. If I were you, I would make this check contingent on the purchase. Something you probably should have done anyway.

Let’s hope. Service does set speed limitations but I would think this would impact all drive modes not just conserve. Also the OP mentioned this which doesn’t sound right either, “Already do the hard reset lost a lot settings now the outside temp doesn’t even work ..before I can’t connect wifi after reset works… now I can’t save radio stations or used the maps?”

Sounds like you're in turtle mode if your speed is limited above 50 mph. Are you sure there's not a picture of a yellow turtle on the driver's screen??? Turtle mode lets you accelerate normally up to 50 mph...but then its as if the motor cuts out and you're limited to 50 mph. Its an indication of some sort of problem......that usually goes away with a HARD reset (as opposed to a soft reset).

It accelerates up to speed then if you let go and accelerate again it is flat there only a picture of a leaf … I just schedule to drop it off Jan 2

Gen 1 Quad here so that's my perspective. When in Conserve, I see the reduced power as indicated on the power graph (the yellow/green arc) in the Driver Display. I don't have a pic of it at the moment, but some of the area is not colored and not available. In other modes, that entire area is available for power.

Like others, I only use Conserve when I NEED that extra range for some off-ball reason as you really don't get that much more range vs, the wear & tear by asking the front motors & tires to do all the work. For example, on my Gen 1 Quad with the stock AT tires, the computers would say I'd get about 30 miles of additional range out of a 100% charge. On a typical charge - say 80-20%, you're only using 60% of the battery capacity so now that 30 miles is actually reduced to 18 (60% of 30) additional miles.

There may be issues with your truck, but in general my advice is not to bother with conserve mode. Perhaps it might help a bit when you’re on a long, steady cruise. I found that switching in and out was more trouble than it’s worth. For me it’s All Purpose, all the time. Some prefer Sport mode.

Normally I would not bother if I had to pay for it… but if it is under warranty it needs to be fixed … it’s a 23 with 24k miles ..first Rivian would like it to be perfect lol …

Conserve mode should still move the truck to pick up speed this is dead no pedal after you let off it is more of a road hazard if you are trying to pass or speed up to be honest more of a safety concern for me … imagine thinking you have power to pass up and truck does not speed up or move … should work in all modes … maybe conserve cruising but when pressing the pedal it should turn all motors back on to pass then back to 2wd like all the gas motors with cylinder cut off

I have a 2023 R1S Quad and as others have said, this is not normal. Conserve isn't exactly peppy (which is why I would hesitate to buy a Gen 2 non-performance dual motor - I'd want to try the enduro motors before buying to make sure they have more pep), but I have no issues getting over 75 on the highway.
