I have a Gen1 R1S - and this only started happening recently within the past three weeks, but now whenever I approach my driveway (or am in my garage) I no longer see the option to press the right steering button to open the garage door. If I press the button, nothing happens.

Note that the car is still programmed to open my garage door - My garage door still shows up under the garage menu and if i go into that menu and tap on my garage name/profile, it does send the correct signal to open or close the garage. The car even knows it is in the right location, it shows me in the correct place in the Maps display.

I also tried doing a soft reset, and then I went into my garage opener settings and deleted the saved location of my garage and then re-added the location (and it confirms it is picking up the correct address location when I do so) but so far nothing seems to work to actually bring the steering button back. Is there some other trick I am missing that anyone can suggest, or is this a known bug introduced from the most recent OTA update?

1 more observation, while the garage settings and gps show the correct location address it is clear that the vehicle doesn't think its current location is at home because now my proximity unlocking at home has started activating again even though I disabled it in the proximity locking menu, so vehicle must believe its current location/State is not at home, for it to ignore the setting for the deactivation of the proximity lock at home. So how do I get the vehicle to recognize when it is at home?

So I just did another soft reset (I had done one yesterday with no change) and this time though it did pickup my location correctly and the button has now reappeared..I guess try multiple soft resets is the answer!

Another possible solution that I have done is reset your Home location.

Yep I did that after the 1st soft restart but it didn't matter. I had to do the 2nd soft restart and then it recognized the geolocation as being the same as the home address setting ln the garage setup, and brought up the right driver button properly. Weirdly enough after the 2nd soft reset my proximity lock's home location setting was cleared and I needed to re-save it.

Ok I think I figured out where the proximity setting issue was coming from as I didn't read fast enough...while I was troubleshooting the garage setting not working earlier I tried clearing all location history...if you go into your gps map settings and clear the saved destinations it clears your home address settings in the gps and proximity menus (but not the garage address). It warns it will do so, I just missed that, but also Ideally clearing your saved destinations would not affect the home and work address storage slots

I just had the same thing happen. I removed my address and re-added. That corrected it.

I had this issue after the latest update, as well as one or two previous updates. A soft reset always solved it.

I have had the same issue in the past... I was able to fix it by turning off the feature setting (show the button) then turning the setting back on again.. try that next time.

I had this issue a couple of weeks ago. My Home location seemed like it got reset to my GPS street address location instead of my actual GPS home location, 550 feet away. I recall that messing around with the "Home" location in Nav did nothing to fix it. As I recall, I went into Settings - Connect - Garages, deleted the garage location and recreated it.

Same thing happened to our R1S after the .46 update. Buggy software that should be less buggy. I will try the solutions above and see if any of them work. Thanks for the work OP.

Clearing home location and soft reset worked for me. Thank you for mentioning this issue. Was very upset it was removed.
