Because I’m obsessive, I measured it out and marked the outside of the glass with a sharpie. It’s installed only just low enough to remove it without removing the box cover.

Some interesting notes....

None of my right-angle cables worked with the Comma. I would have preferred to use those in both ports, particularly the side port for longitudinal control. But the right angle adapters all worked fine. Less clean than just a cable, but not as terrible as straight out of the side.

This mount is so much better than the C3. Simpler, almost nothing to it. The C3 mount feels like someone was overthinking it.

The fake Chinesium VHB tape on the Janka mount is horrible to remove. Over half an hour of scraping and alcohol rubbing. I have an interior windshield film so I can only use a plastic scraper, not a metal one.

This mount goes on much MUCH lower than the C3 mount but the end result is less obstruction.

The small screen is a pain to type on, but at least, the keyboard software logic is FANTASTIC and the result is not as bad as it could be. Shit, my iPhone keyboard could learn from this.

I changed to Down To Ride from Nevada and I *think* it works better. I only did a fairly short drive and was demoing it to a friend, so I was noticing details, but also talking and playing with it actively to show how it works.

It's still ridiculous that I can buy a $1,000 little tiny box and stick it on the glass and beat the systems from most car makers. All open source and started by one nerd who didn't understand that this "can't" be done.

The transition from full control to steering only and back takes getting used to. In fact, you will have a higher workload at first, as you experiment with how it works and how to manage it. But trust me, if you invest effort at first, right away, eventually it just becomes automatic in your brain, how to use it for all situations. For example, I turn the corner from our residential street to the main road into town, and turn it on. In a short while I come to a 90 degree bend which the Comma cannot do. I can touch the brake, and turn it all off, but no. Instead you do stalk up, which kills the speed control, make my turn, let go of the wheel, and the Comma simply resumes steering with no drama, super smooth. I'm now on the accelerator to get up to the new speed (53), stalk down, feet off. Perfect.

Got an abrupt disengagement and “restart vehicle” alert on the freeway yesterday. Comma 3x, Sunnypilot.

Anyone else seem this? Didn’t see anything on the drivers screen at the time. Reminded me of the ACC abrupt disengagement.

Did ACC disengage? I've gotten that a few times - I think it's the same Rivian ACC random disengagement bug that they still haven't fixed. Were you able to re-engage right away?

I had this happen long ago. Is your comma on a very recent version?

Ordered a comma 4 and the harnesses from Lucas. While I'm waiting for those to be delivered, given the new driver display of the map with the new update, does engaging the comma cause the driver display to switch from the map to the driver assistance?

This is a Rivian problem. The random ACC disengagements have been plaguing Rivian for almost a year now.
Yeah, I get them routinely in certain places in Driver+ but have yet to see them in the same places with Comma. Typical symptoms are a warning to take over, you do, re-engage, and it's fine again until it's not. I just traveled one of the areas where this happens, but with the Comma today, and it was fine. I also just realized that I was zoned out (napping in the back seat) when it got past a place with a jog where D+ freaks out hard.

Looks perfect. I ordered during thanksgiving and still waiting for comma4 shipment.
I have a radar detector tapped into the mirror harness. How are you powering comma?
I like how close it’s to the mirror plastic and it’s nicely tucked in and not in the center of the glass.
Can you also share links to the mount?

The mount comes with the unit. And a fuse tap is the best way to power the comma right now.
