Google Maps on Rivian is not on par with other platforms

I still find it faster to find things on my phone in Google Maps then share with Rivian. Don't know who decided not to allow sync with a Google account so saved favorites etc.. in maps come across to the car but hopefully address that.

My guess, and this is just a guess, is that it is coming. Rivian Assistant is launching with Google calendar integration, so I'd imagine order Google integrations will follow

Agreed, though I'd frankly be satisfied if signing into your Google account in the YouTube app would allow me to watch YouTube TV on the center screen as well. Loved having that ability in my old Tesla -- could watch live sports while charging on road trips.

I think the only thing I would change is an option to stop the music 'dimming' feature when navigating. It can be pretty annoying when you're jamming to a tune and have the volume consistently drop and raise.
Now that there is visualization on driver screen, if like the option to turn off this feature.

They need to do that, and provide real time sync/interaction with Apple/Microsoft email and calendars.

Given the real time nature that they demonstrated for Rivian assistant, they will need to solve the real time sync issue across platforms. APIs and paid services provide tools to do this to various extents.

It sure will be interesting to see what Rivian Assistant brings "early in the 1st quarter".

Do you want/need the audio alerts for navigation? If you don't, just mute navigation audio and the ducking (the term for when one audio source lowers it's volume for another source to be heard) will stop.

This one time, in Vietnam Band Camp, Apple Maps took us 15 miles in the wrong direction from our real destination and had us stranded on a mountaintop. Then had the gall to announce, “Arrived!”

Apple should just get rid of their map app.

Tesla map implementation is much to be desired.

Thanks, I'll look into this option. Was wondering if I was missing an easy fix to this annoyance.

Tap on the speaker icon on the lower right of the center screen. Tap the three dots. That should present the other audio sources' volume levels, tap the mute (or turn down all the way) the maps audio.

Is it though? I have never had a bad route in my Rivian, but my Tesla's over the years were ridiculous. It took nearly two years for Tesla's google maps to know about a new tunnel that the google maps app knew about after 2 days.
