something like Tesla's S3XY buttons would do the trick. I wonder why nobody has made something similar for Rivian.

Feels like a huge day once push today. Love the feedback that sounded like it came from Zachs wife Cambry on kneel. ( The notes day Cambry and it would make sense that kneel is still high for a wheel chair user. )

It's not pushed out to everyone at once. It's done in batches. And you won't ever be notified to install it unless it's already been pushed to and downloaded by your R1S. And your R1S needs to have a solid WiFi connection to download it. If you want more awareness than that, link your account to rivianroamer.com. Once linked, the minute it's pushed to your R1S, you get an email alert from rivianroamer. If your R1S doesn't have a solid connection, this email alert let's you know when you need to connect your R1S to a WiFi signal.

Yeah, I still don't think that's always a guarantee. I have a UniFi 7 LR access point aimed directly at the front bumper of the r1s, and I'm a connect plus subscriber, and I have a home assistant notification set up for the software update flag. It's always a crap shoot on when I get notified.

Every other car in the world has integrated text messaging. How on earth hasn’t an accomplished software developer like Rivian not been able to figure it out? I am so frustrated and embarrassed when a passenger notices this in my R1S. Not to mention how tempting and unsafe it is to have to use my phone.

Yes, I still think it is deploying on Thursday.



A couple of things:
1. I don't have any Rivian connections. Zero.
2. I am not friends with @Rivian Roamer, so he didn't violate any NDA or confidential info he may have.
3. Thursday was a total guess based on what seemed at the time to be the right timing for the release.
4. I got lucky.

I am pretty excited about this update. I get excited about all of them, actually. I do wish it included more UHF improvements, but maybe there are some that are not called out in the release notes that people will notice when testing.

Anyway, the update is available for my truck also. I really want to download it, but probably I should wait until I have more than 1% SoC.

They don't put all of the Connect+ subscribers into the first pool/wave, you guys just get spread out amongst earlier waves is all.

Demoed as part of autonomy day, coming in early 2026 to all consumer Rivian vehicles as part of the 'Rivian Assistant'. Did it take a long (probably too long) time? Sure. But it's coming, and hopefully the time spent means a good amount of work was put into it.

Makes all the usual hand-wringing over receiving updates even more nonsensical. It happens when it does. Don't worry about it.

How could you not be a fan of cool/cold air blowing out when the UI shows heat? /s

Couldn’t get my truck to blow hot air at my windshield while driving in near white out conditions on Donner Summit today. Sure, it feels wonderfully rooted when driving in the snow, but that whole being able to see out the window without a ton of ice visibility thing would be pretty damned useful, too.

No. Swipe right to get the quick action menu and hit kneel.
