2026.03 Update Pushed! Now Installing

I have a Gen 2 R1S with Connect+, but on the last 6 months of updates or so, it has taken a week or more after the release to get each update notification and install.

R1S is parked at home overnight every day with "excellent" wifi connection (according to app), but connection is X-ed out during sleep.

I've noticed that my R1S goes into a deep sleep almost immediately after locking at home, and is difficult to "wake"--usually taking several attempts to unlock via the app before it responds. Is this normal sleep/wake behavior, or does my R1S seem overly lethargic? Doesn't appear to matter whether it is plugged in to the charger or not.

Confused, a bit, your 2016 Model S lets you drive with your hands off the wheel? It changes lanes for you and without shutting off AP on the highway? I am literally asking (my 2020 Model Y did not but i got rid of it a few years ago).

I do assume/expect that there will be an additional feature (or two) before the end of the 60 trial, but we shall see.

My 2019 X (which is now parked in my garage) was pretty good. Would go from house, down country road, stop at a stop stop sign, pull out and stop at a red light, merge on the highway, change lanes to avoid slow cars and get off the highway into a business park without any interaction other. I'd take over when pulling into the parking lot.

It did nag for a small hand touch, but I find that nicer than the "eye's off road" nag since its natural for me rest my hand on it.
Did I pay close attention..sure. But it had gotten pretty decent.

Sport Mode FTW! It drives a lot like AP in the QM, which is fine with me because that's what I spent all of my time in anyways. Definitely a huge upgrade in driving experience over AP for the DM.

Does it have to be hit every time you get into the vehicle?

They were better before the towing tab, but the change I'm talking about was just introduced in this one, 2026.03.

The towing tab blows. The more complaining about it the faster they fix it.

Yes the constant shrinking of the displays and gauges for the info screen on the center is very annoying. That dumb worthless towing tab using up space (2025.46), and now (2026.03) the mi/kwh display is microscopic. What programmer made it that way and went, yes, its better to shrink fonts for people to look at while driving? Dumb!

And yet the font for the "towing" tab is gigantic. And we lose the entire height of that tab for the whole screen. If anything, shrink the font for the tabs and make everything else larger. Or just put the towing tab back into a button the way it was before. I don't tow, will never tow, give me my screen real estate back.

Um… what? 2026.03.0 just got pushed to me (note extra .0) (2026.03 I got yesterday)

Something glitched. Now the install note went away and I’m on 2026.03.0 without doing anything.

Not good. This may not have been intentional. I think they upgraded the whole graphics engine. This might be a side effect of that. Or it’s a dumb move.

These updates are rolled out to the beta fleets months before they go out to all customers. Its staggering to think not a single beta tester mentioned the smaller fonts and increasingly inefficient use of screen real estate.

Finally got Gen 1 launch mode, so pretty happy. Like the ability to have std ride height in sport mode. The kneeling function for the quick access menu is nice too. This is my 2nd most favorite release since they did that suspension update last year.

I received a very delayed iPhone notification at 2:30AM EST that an update was ready to install. The update was already installed yesterday evening. Clicking the notification redirects me to the mobile app updates page displaying the updated version number. Strange.

I received an update completion notification minutes ago stating the update to my vehicle was complete.

I got the alert to update last night so I went ahead and ran it then went to bed. This morning I saw it didn’t update. Went into the vehicle to find this message displayed.

I opened a tt with Rivian (and yes, did the ‘hard’ reboot and still no change.

My question is has anyone seen the same message before?

After I opened my tt I did receive a new push notification to update but before I could action it, it disappeared.

This happens every update.

Rivian's waves generally start at 1 PM PT and die down throughout the day. It's not paused.
