Those numbers, if real, are pretty competitive! Love the ventilated seats and matrix head lights that are specifically mentioned as included in the upper trims.

Reasonable pricing, specs and range. Don't love the timelines on the cheaper options as they spent two years advertising base $45k price so it comes off as misleading, but it is what it is.

For how boxy the R2 is, i'm actually impressed with range as it's competitive with Model Y.

The pricing sounds great. However, I'm seriously doubting the specs, more specifically the range estimate.

330 miles on a 87.9 kwh battery equates to 3.75 mi/kWh.

That only seems remotely possible in low speed, around town, frequent stops type of trips.

The AWD Premium at $54K would be my pick if I lived with snowy winters. The RWD Standard at $49K with the "normal" battery pack would be my pick for areas without snow.

It's pretty much what every car manufacturer does now. Nothing new there.

My Gen1 R1T has been quite close to the EPA estimates. In the end, it's all down to how you drive. Just like with an ICEV.

Yeah I've been thinking about that. They mentioned that lidar was more for increasing their collection of data, but it doesn't seem like that's the only thing they would use it for in regards to ADAS/Full Autonomy.

It really is....still think we'll wait for LiDAR.

Even if you get the RWD Large pack, slap some winter tires on and snow isn't an issue (I had a RWD Model 3 that I used winter tires with and it was great in the winters!).

58k for LE (AWD, 330~ range, 600~ HP, tow package) with lifetime Autonomy+ is so tempting.
Autonomy + Is included because it is last years hardware and software. No in cabin AI compute, no lidar, no eyes off. If that does not matter to you then it is attractive.

Priced just like we thought. Model Y Performance. It had to be there. I'm thrilled for Rivian, and if by some miracle they can ramp up quickly and nail quality, it will sell very well. However, it isn't for me as it's only 1" longer than a CR-V.

Rivian R1T R1S 2026 R2 pricing, range & specs! $57,990 Performance Launch Edition / $53,990 Premium / $48,490 Standard / $45,000 Standard (Smaller Battery) y perf pric

4400 lbs tow rating makes me sad. So much for hoping to drag my camper around locally with it.
Yeah, but it’s better than many mid-size vehicles at 3500. Maybe they’ll release a collab camper to meet the rating
