They are the meteorological seasons (used by weather services) precisely because they do better align with weather changes around the world. Astronomical seasons are not the same length and make climate tracking more difficult, not easier.You're forgetting half the globe. June Solstice is the start of winter in the South. And with climate change in full swing, basing your seasons on meteorological events is going to be pretty tricky. In the US midwest, it's not unusual for us to see all four "seasonal weather events" in a single week, sometimes in a single day!
