It’s happening. Let the ramp up begin!
I’m actually surprised We haven’t seen the typical drone videos yet.I'm gonna be in Normal this week, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to spot any R2s outside the factory.
Overstock.comHere's a stupid question: If these are production R2's, how do they know what to build if the reservation holders haven't even been able to specify what they want?
I’m guessing all the early production going to employees and they’ve had access to the configurator to spec the cars. Here's a stupid question: If these are production R2's, how do they know what to build if the reservation holders haven't even been able to specify what they want?
Given how many are being built, they will likely just make several they expect people to get (likely the free esker silver with 21" rims, black interior) to get things going on. In other words, it will be matching configured vehicles to existing orders as things start to ramp up so I expect more unique configurations to be delivered later on and the more mainstream ones to come early. Here's a stupid question: If these are production R2's, how do they know what to build if the reservation holders haven't even been able to specify what they want?
I'm sure they have a pretty good idea of what most people will want. There shouldn't be very many variations anyway, so they can build up some stock ahead of the official launch. Here's a stupid question: If these are production R2's, how do they know what to build if the reservation holders haven't even been able to specify what they want?
They're not bespoke-like any manufacturer, they're estimating demand and will begin stocking supply. If you want a color/style etc that's not in stock, you'll wait longer. Here's a stupid question: If these are production R2's, how do they know what to build if the reservation holders haven't even been able to specify what they want?
Yep, that's kinda the point of a launch edition too. It limits the number of trims they need to crank out early on.I'm sure they have a pretty good idea of what most people will want. There shouldn't be very many variations anyway, so they can build up some stock ahead of the official launch.
I don't have a drone, but I'll cruise by the holding yard and keep an eye out. Might be hard to tell the R2 from the R1S at a distance though.I’m actually surprised We haven’t seen the typical drone videos yet.
I think the early employee runs are done, or will be this week at the most. Here's a stupid question: If these are production R2's, how do they know what to build if the reservation holders haven't even been able to specify what they want?
