Estimated time to order R2 - what's your estimated date?

What I want to know is when they will have the R2 in the spaces. I don't even need the ability to drive one. I just want to see one. Rivian ignores the East coast quite a bit. If you don't live in NY or Florida they avoid most everything in between (unless you count the Georgia factory.)

They are coming to Atlanta, GA in May (8, 9, 10).

others are looking for the lower-spec model or the tri-motor or the Level-4 Autonomy capable. Some will just hold out for different aesthetic options.

What does Rivian MY turnover look like in the ordering system? Anyone been shopping for an early-next-MY R1, what was the cue to go ahead and submit your order? Some kind of bold banner across the top that orders for current MY have ended, and that new MY (& pricing) is in effect going forward? MY production changes in the past have been over the summer?

My need to plus-up the family fleet doesn't hit until late-summer 2027, so thinking wait for early-MY28.

The Previous model Year changes were pretty inconsistent. The move to enduro drives for 2024 model year were announced late in the year. OTOH the 2025 MY and 2026 were in June / July. I think it depends on what changes they are planning. If it is just cosmetic and minor features, Summer is a good bet. If they decide to jump to the new autonomy suite (unlikely) it is year end.

My impression is that Lidar, et al. will be a mid-MY27 change at year's end 2026 vs. early flip to MY28. But I've not actually read that anywhere. I have read that June-July has been MY turnover in recent years, we'll see when/whether flip to MY27 R1 happens same time this summer.

Has the ordering system been crystal clear which MY one is committing to and receiving? Perhaps an announced/published date for current/next MY?

RJ already stated Gen3 autonomy will start shipping by end of year in R2.

I just wrote out my order on a sheet of paper, included my color choice, options, my phone and credit card numbers - left it taped to the door of the local service center.

I'm sure it'll be fine, though I haven't gotten a call yet. Maybe they're just super busy.
