I got a call from CS January 10th asking to downgrade to a large pack for 2022 delivery.

Told them I would if that would get me my R1T 9-12 months earlier then waiting till Q1 2023.

They eluded to "possible" Q1 2023 Max Pack delivery, and I said whatever gets me my R1T faster (I had multiple orders).

They didn't give me a 2022 delivery estimate, but Rivian CS did change my configurator to a Large Pack.

I emailed Rivian CS about the change and they gave me a blanketed response about checking my Rivian account for a "soon to be arriving delivery window date".

Needless to say, I still don't know much of anything, but my Max Pack has been changed to a Large Pack and I hope to get my R1T before June (my hope).

Preorder #1 date 11/27/18

Well you better get on it! If you want delivery this year, Large pack in Adventure trim, any color combinations and accessories. If you want Max pack or explore, be ready to wait till June 2023 at the earliest.
Thank you.

This was the insight I was looking for. I really wanted the max pack, but Not another year wait to go with it.

You will only pay Wa State sales tax
I know that's how it works (because it won't be sold/registered twice), but the way it was suggested would have left that open. I was just pointing out that the "legalese" could cause a not-insignificant problem.

Good for them to at least let one person know BEFORE the end of the month. This makes their earnings call interesting. :CWL:

Yes, Rivian knows today that they will not deliver Jan/Feb orders. Considering that they pushed the 2021 orders to Jan/Feb and now all of those to Mar/Apr. I think it is safe to say everyone needs to move back at least one delivery window.

this is all so mentally exhausting... makes me yearn for that email from my Ford dealer telling my your reservation for a Lightning has come up and ready to secure your order configuration and build date. I want the R1T way more but I can't help but wonder how long Rivian can be a furnace for speculative funding.

Not necessarily. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but based on the number of forum members who had Jan/Feb versus Mar/Apr, I would think that the total anticipated deliveries for Jan/Feb was much smaller than Mar/Apr. March and April may be able to absorb the January and February orders without creating a ripple effect.

But of course, this is all a guess based on zero information from Rivian as to why these dates may have been pushed.

Why set a deadline you can't meet? After the first couple delays you figure they'd reassess how they calculate customer timing expectations. Also, not that it was ok before the IPO but now it all "counts", why add impatient shareholders and fluff journalism calling out your issues into the mix.

Rivian is lucky there's no direct competition delivering at the moment. This time could've been used to ramp service and improve customer experience.

It looks like, unfortunately and unsurprisingly, these dates are getting pushed out (https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...stion-if-the-wait-is-worth-it.3515/post-99259).

Have other Jan-Feb people heard from their guides with this message?
I'm confused. Which member with a Jan-Feb window was told Mar-Apr? I only saw a statement from a Mar-Apr customer (Jagger027) stating that CS indicated Mar-Apr was still the best info they had and they were still committed to that window.

That said, I still expect few or zero deliveries in February.

@the long way downunder had some feedback from their guide that they won't get delivery in Jan/Feb.
